Non-center mount feels wrong.

Rode center mount bentchetlers for like 6 years at least, probably not an amazing call but I was young. Now anything farther back than 3cms from true center feels like there barely any ski behind me.

Feelswackman.

I was thinking about this the other day hahahah , I can’t mount my skis anywhere other than center either .

Have a pair of Moment Exit Worlds (pretty sure they're the old touring version of the Bibby?), mounted at recommended (which is way the fuck in the back). Can't say I ever really liked riding them, just felt strange.

Sounds like you're skiing pretty upright if thats an issue, try putting more pressure on your shins to feel balanced.

It'll help when I replace my soft as hell Fulltilt classics this year. Those things feel more like shoes than boots when I put pressure anywhere.

So many people ride backseat its crazy. proper shin pressure = proper edge control

And reversely when I go from my rear mounted commanders to center mounted joints I feel like I’m riding kids skis and there is nothing in front of me to lean into

This is facts. Jumping on twin tips after more traditional directional ski is like jumping on snowblades lol I ride almost exclusively twin tips but damn is it fun to drive that shin on a ski with some strength!

this is how i feel if i don't center mount

I center mounted everything until 3 years ago. I have 1 pair that’s still like that and when I ski those it feels super strange. Even my skis for park now I mount at -2.5 or so otherwise I get bucked forward.

How much shin pressure to do this?

And even more fun to run through the terrain park and hit rails with directional skis mounted -4 or -6

I'm impressed that u can notice the difference. For the last few years my skis have been center mounted but I've never really noticed a difference between center and slightly back

We are about to have a whole generation riding the 2040 Rossi soul or nordica enforcers centered mounted when we age out of park riding

My knees hurt from just watching this

that doesn't even look fun haha

Riding center tends to teach you to be neutral and/or backseat in a carve and when you transition to more traditional mounts that forgiveness just isn’t there you have to be over your skis or you get fucked because there is no ski behind you. I was in the same boat I was captain center mount for years on everything and got a more directional set of skis and relearning how to ski for real was a thing?

Skiing anything outside of the park center mounted is just doing yourself a disservice

thinking back to the time i skied brighton utah pow on center mounted 90mm waist park skis. I struggled the entire time lmao

idk, I feel like center mount outside of the park is more noticeably weird than traditional mount inside the park. Never had an issue spinning because my skis aren't perfectly balanced, but have noticed that long tails suck in moguls and make powder skiing harder.
