Yo whatup NS, so heres my deal

im applying for a Nols course right now, and ive got 2 options, i can either get on a summer semester program in the rockies which leaves in early june and is like 70 days. I was stoked on it at first, and started the application process, but then kinda pulled back a little. The thing is the entire summer. There are a bunch of shorter programs open too, and some ones that look really sick. theyre 30 day programs, i just dont really know which one wanna commit too. The 70 day one would be ILL but idk i got a ton of stuff that i wanna do with my summer, and idk if the NOLS thing is the only thing i wanna do. It leaves like june 9th and comes back august 15th or something so it would kinda kill my summer.

Anyway anyone here got any experience with NOLS programs? any advice/suggestions?

im definately down for one, it sounds fucking ILL but i wanna have some chill time, idk but yo

++K for good responses, and some kinda quick ones would be greatly appreciated cuz my decision is due mad soon

thanks ns hit me back

i did a NOLS course last summer for a monthhiking for 18 days and 9 days of raftingthe whole experience was pretty different from everyday life, and the rafting was gnar
what would you be doing for the 70 days?

go big. do the 70 day program. i've never been myself, but my roommate did the 30 day when he was in high school and he said he wished he did the 70

If you think you're gonna have regrets about being gone the whole summer, I'd definitely hit up one of the shorter ones. But then again (I don't know how old you are, but this is the case for me) it could be a lot more difficult and inconvenient to go on those awesome trips, traveling the world and shit as you get older. You gotta live it up while you have the chance!

^ yeah for sure i was soo happy when i got homedon't get me wrong i had fun but i hadnt been high in over a month :0

im 17,

the deal would be 20 days of hiking

20 of climbing

20 of rafting/kayaking

and like 10 days of like travel between the places

the 30 day one would be like almost all hiking, mabye rock climbing

I would go for the long one, it gets harder to do stuff like that as you get older, so I would take advantage of it while you can.
