Noahs ark found

I HOPE THEY FOUND THE ARK, AND THERE IS STILL REMAINS OF 2 OF EACH ANIMAL LOCKED IN IT. THAN THAT WOULD FURTHER PROVE EVOLUTION.

This thread may have a higher concentration of stupidity than any other thread ever created on NS. Coming from multiple angles. Or it just seems way more stupid to me than it actually is because im tired or something.

Reading all the comments is the only thing keeping me from falling asleep in Chinese History class right now! Such an interesting debate going on, and some funny pictures haha

this just in: whole woolly mammoths preserved in ice!

i would recommend watching that video...

This just in: reading comprehension is an un-needed quality.

Notice the whole "IN" ice portion... that wood was "exposed"... now, I don't want to call you stupid but exposed means it is out there at the mercy of the elements. The mammoth was in GLACIER ice and thus protected from the elements.

Learned something today?

maybe you should re-read the article and show me exactly where it claims that the wood was exposed

the mountain (volcano) is about 16,000 ft tall, do you know how little the oxygen content there is at that altitude? do you know what the temperature is that high up in that climate? in order for the wood to rot, you would need a wood rotting fungus, moisture, high humidity, or even steam.

after just a few seconds of research, i discovered that above roughly 13,000 ft up, the mountain consists mainly of igneous rock and glacial ice. im assuming you know a glacier can only form when more snow falls in winter then melts in summer, this should be a big clue indicating that there is not much liquid water when nearing the peak.

did you know before houses were built, many people used to live in caves, and many animals still do? do you know why?

to protect themselves from the elements....

if you had watched the video, im sure you would have not only picked up on the copious amounts of ice coating the surrounding the area, but also the fact that was out in the open. so you see, the potential boat was protected by not only what you claim to have protected those frozen woolly mammoths, but yet another extremely thick layer of rock.

so should we maybe take a look at the elements? well, for glacial ice to form, it must be pretty cold, and a large amount of snow must fall. now those arent exactly the conditions in which wood would rot.

now, i dont want to call you stupid, but i really hope you put a little more thought into your next call out....

so i have a question: usually you make some pretty intelligent posts, but why are you so fucking stupid today?

I hope you're just hating on Panda's stupid posts and not on the "Noah's Ark is real" side of the argument here.

i dont think i have made a single comment declaring my position on all of this. old as this wood may be, do i think it carried two of every animal around the world for a while?

lol....

oh hey its this cool guy!

no that was directed towards the fact that your one of those retards who thinks lack of evidence is evidence in and of itself, regardless of how far fetched and wild the subject is you are trying to disprove.

you mean cover it in ice, hide it in a mountain, and make sure it is in an extremely dry climate? haha ok

who knows man...u cant follow a story that might not be true

not trying to doubt your religious beliefs but you have no more knowledge then the thread creator

first you explain what your "logic" argument is to me

i dont want to evaluate the correctness of this, but this is the only

"logic" thing someone could say to counter my argument.

I had a Jehovah Witness douchebag that wouldn't leave me or my gf alone today. He was doing the usual "You don't believe in God you are going to Hell" thing and I told him to fuck off then he attacked me.

i dont know if your making some witty comeback that went completely over my head or if your serious.

so basically, is muh metre brokded?

Interesting, but i believe there would have been some geological proof which would have indicated to there being a GINORMOUS flood a mere 4,800 years ago. But I've been wrong before.

No, being serious. I am currently in a religion hating mood. I have a Christian Studies class (cultural diversity credit the only other classes were African American Studies or Mexican History) and they were talking about "saving sex for marriage" and I said "but you test drive the car before you buy it" and the professor proceeded to tell me my way of life is wrong, God hates me, I am going to hell, and that I should find religion or "have your soul lost forever"....

hahahahah

dont interpret my posts and think i believe this is the ark

i guess you could call me religious, but only to a slight degree and its the people that say the shit above that make me less and less

i was just simply proving the flaw in your post and how it is perfectly possible for the wood to be preserved at this altitude. but as i said to ohmybosh....lol

i stated that it is highly improbable that the whole earth was flooded with water so that the sea level went up 13,000 ft (improbable as there is no other evidence for it). i asked where the water came and where it went, ok so far?

than this guy said (jokingly), that "god sent the water and took it away" or something like that, still ok?

so i congratulated him on being the only "defender" of hardcore christians/creationsist because this would be the only "logic" argument that someone could bring against my claim, you hear me?

so, what you might have missed is that "logic" doesnt mean "probable". so close, right? but a "logic" argument is one that takes assumption X (regardless how realistic it is) and concludes argument Y out of it. so if someone is sold on the biblical story, he shouldnt argue how its possible that everything was flooded due to rain, or any other scientifical reason, but simply that god send the water and took it away afterwards.

but overall, i think that noahs ark is a metaphor for something else and its close to impossible that some guy took all living creatures (or 2 of every species) on a boat that is roughly 500 ft long. furthermore its impossible that the whole earth was covered with that much water.

than, i think that the flood is a story about a slow raise of sea level which forced a tribe to leave the area we know now as the persian gulf. newest technology revealed that this was a wealthy, green valley some thousand years ago and could be identical to the "garden of eden". note: the (proven) change in sea level is some hundred feet, not 13,000, ok?

sad thing is that they still make money with that shit. like all 20 years or whenever they show it publicly its a mass event and people come from everywhere.

but never forget that god created this fat white towel so i guess he fakes the results of the radio carbon thing. really logic if you ask me.

You are really bad at explaining yourself.

A valid argument is an argument where the conclusion follows from the premises, but one (or more) of the premises is false.

A sound argument is an argument where the conclusion follows from the premises, and all of the premises are true.

For example, saying "God made a flood, but then god took it all the water away, therefore we can't detect any of the water" is a valid argument, because the conclusion does follow from the premises. However, it is not sound, because the premises are false.

ok, i am not a native speaker (woohoo, who wouldve thought, huh?), so its kinda complicated to explain such theoretical stuff in english.

but you got my point, he made a valid conclusion, something i would call "logisch" in german. how correct the premise is/was was not something i wanted to deal with, since there is at least a 0,001% chance that you and i go to hell, because noahs ark existed, jesus died for our sins, its wrong to believe in other gods, blablabla. know what i mean?

although i hate everything related to christianity and even though i see how senseless this is: i would still give "god" as SOME superhuman creator 0,001 % probability of existence.

But why would a boat, carbon dated around the same time period, have been built to such large proportions? Back then there was no need for such large ships, due to a lack of human population.

You sir, are a moron. Sorry to be blunt, but know your shit before chiming in. The arc was not made for humans, but for animals. Two if every spieces was placed on the ship in order to preserve life on earth as God washed the sinful humans off of it.

What i find most amusing about the ark story is 1. the impossibility of a world wide flood from "forty days and forty nights of rain" 2. did Noah collect creatures from other continents? i see no record of rocky mountain elk or mule deer or polar bears.
Myths and legends (the stories in the bible included) are taken to seriously. They are meant to be lessons on how to act and stories made up to satisfy a human need for purpose. Noah's ark probably existed but it's true purpose has been lost to speculation and blown out of proportion. IMO
