Noah Albaladejo and SLVSH Appreciation thread

I can only do safety slides on flat rails without spins or anything, props to him for being able to do it. At the same time, it gets kinda annoying when almost every call has "safety slide land holding" in it

he does have style tho forgor to put that in

Seeing all the hate pouring for him and SLVSH has me feeling really disappointed by our community.

Haven't been on NS much in the last years I'd forgotten why I stopped coming on, what a powerful reminder from some of you.

SLVSH is by far the best thing that has happened to our sport ever, they've steered its direction towards creativity, community, and freedom, all through passion-driven hard work to deliver FREE content and opportunities for riders around the globe based on an appreciation of style, consistency and constructive competing. They've pioneered 3 new formats that have inspired riders at every snowpark to see freeskiing as a celebration of different visions and skills to be shared and built on each other.

They're the very reason we don't have to only watch robot ski gymnasts doing the same rotation every direction and being rewarded for spinning an extra 180. Don't get me wrong, it takes immense skill to compete at FIS and X-Games level and I very much appreciate the technicality and consistency required to get podiums, but I came into this sport for flow, creativity, style and freedom. Without SLVSH, we would not have it be represented at pro level, and the sport itself might look very different, with things like style points and knuckle huck probably not existing. SLVSH has kept the spirit of freeskiing alive. Thank you.

To see one of the best examples of this approach to freeskiing being hated on so hard for doing exactly what this approach celebrates is so disappointing and shameful. Noah is such an amazing rider, pushing forward his own vision with something unique and creative. He's been riding for years alongside one of the goats, putting out some of the most beautifully crafted edits. To insult such a well-respected rider on his home turf for setting his classic tricks is baffling to me. If you can't 2p2 while holding safety oozing steeze how dare you diminish his approach to a gimmick. There's a reason he's winning games, these tricks are hard and it takes someone that's honed their vision over years of practice to consistently be able to put them down. Writing this from Scotland, I was rooting for Chris and his super clean pretz. Yet i'm delighted to see Noah take the win by giving us a taste of his unique style, and I'm sure both riders he faced off were stoked to try some new tricks that don't require hucking yourself at the speed of light and focus on adding style.

So here's to Noah, and SLVSH for giving a platform to all riders like him who have always tried to innovate and share their unique take on freeskiing with us. I hope they know how lucky many of us feel to have them part of our sport.

Dudes just on his knees for Noah and SLVSH rn. We all love SLVSH and and agree Noah is a good freestyle skier but its lame of him to throw tricks he knows his opponant wont get. I can think of countless times during SLVSH games when someones asks "do you have ....... trick" before making a call. Noah throwing the same trick over and over again is so lame to see in a friendly game. Make as many tributes you want to him it doesnt make a difference, even if he wins this cup people are gonna say hes a bum.

Oh my god, I can't even finish reading OPs post. So sensitive and dramatic. "I'd forgotten why I stopped coming on, what a powerful reminder from some of you". Jesus christ dude, pull the tampon out.

I don't think you realise just how fucking wack for the SLVSH team it is to have literally the entire comment section of every Noah games and even other games he's not on be idiots raging so hard because they don't see safety slides as a valid element of different tricks. No one is saying the same thing when in the other semi final 3x f3 swaps on flat bars, an incredibly hard and random move if you're not a Norwegian rail wizard got Max out. Max's signature tricks are always corks/bios on the box. Noah's is playing to his strengths just like everyone else but because his strengths look different than the more normal combos you're used to people feel entitled to shit on him, the slvsh rules, and the entire tournament. I don't even like safety slides personally, im tall and not flexible, and just more into presses and surface swaps. No reason to be allergic to them like a little shitstain. Besides, Noah got 2 revs on hard sets, and proved he's easily a better rider than anyone of you fucks by greasing that insane 6 2out. A "bad" slvsh game, where we could say one of the rider is playing too much to his strength would last 5mins (and this has happened in the past). Noah's games lasted 13m, 9m and 15m, easily some great game lengths.

Joss literally had to turn off the comment section and come on NS to share his lack of desire to keep putting out these videos due to the sheer amount of negativity they received. You're such little ungrateful pricks for putting a downer vibe on their hard work and on sound people who were just looking forward to enjoying the tournament without hate and negativity pouring out. Punch a wall or something, let normal people and the pros do their fucking thing.

I'll take sensitive and dramatic over being an entitled and frustrated twat who can't control their urge to piss out a hateful comment because it's soo unfair that the man on the video is always holding his ski on the rail. Grow the fuck up

You've got the attention span and reading speed of a 12yo if a small paragraph is too much for ya. Then again you probably are.
