No triples skiing big air..........................lame

I thought it was still pretty tight. I find it a bit funny that triples get so much hate on NS but when they are expected and don't happen people start complaining. Vibes to Sammy for going down swinging, I really hope he's ok.

X-games officials would've shit their pants...but then questioned why the fuck he wasn't in the competition.

Snowboarders and skiers tend to have different preferences towards jump style/shape (skiers prefer more lip in general). That jump seemed like it was build for snowboard big air rather than ski big air
 
haha to be honest i wanted to see kai get switch double misty 16 much more than i wanted to see a triple, kid's incredible
 
The most annoying part was listening to the announcers talk about a triple cork in every sentence, and especially at the end.. "If Gus wants the gold he's gonna have to throw the triple" , "Bobby Brown's victory lap, now will we see the triple?" Then after seeing Sammy wreck that hard I think that was the final sign to everyone in finals that this is not the right jump..

not really. double 10s are basically the same skiing and snowboarding. and they both just ad another flip and 360 for the tripple 14. if one skier had attempted it like torstein then the others would have followed suit. a skier could have done it but they would have had to really give it like mcmorris and torstein both did. they didnt come around easily at all.
 
Yea Sammy proved that the jump was clearly to small. But the skier dubs were way better than the snowboarder dubs. And overall it was a sick contest so I would not call it lame what so ever.
 
They shouldn't have hyped the triple so much. Doesn't matter because they were stomping the shit out of that with beatiful dubs. The dude who ran out and sledded down the jump and then got wrecked was hilarious too so overrall sick comp.
 
i find it weird that they invite people who havent ever even tried triples and dont invite someone who has actually landed one

I really liked bobby's "Oh what? I wasn't supposed to go yet? ok I'll just waste 30 seconds hiking back up" move to try and end the contest. I feel like the guy just wants the wins and medals and will do shit like that to get them. Haven't been a fan of his from the start, and this move didn't help any. on a side note hes an ok jumper i guess
 
You're either drunk right now, or arrogant. The jump WAS probably big enough, but the riders found it unnecessary to throw, because they are not one hit wonders and have the rest of the season to worry about. Still a shame, but they may have not saw the triple as worth trying considering they could still win by doing doubles and not risking hurting themselves. Understandable, but still gay.
 
Not as disapionted in the lack of a triple as him trying to cut it short, that made me mad, i have a feeling the skiiers were protesting a triple because of the jump, they might have been just rubbing in the x games face
 
Am I the only one that's glad there weren't any triples? I mean 1 would have been cool but I don't want to see triples a part of every x games competition
 
i'm stoked that none of the skiers did triples. they kept their dubs stylish and smooth, rather than forced and hucked. definitely the right choice.
kudos to them for not letting the pressure of the X Games force tricks that just weren't appropriate for that specific jump.
 
youre probably the same kids that are complaining about skiing turning into aerials. shut the fuck up that comp was sick
 
Dane shoula been in. Kai absolutely killed it, probably my favorite part was when Bobby did the swdub misty 12 to show he was the first one to do it...and got 44? X games is fucked, not a bad big air comp though
 
Jump and triples aside, it was a good show. I was biting my nails when Kai dropped in for that last hit, I knew he had it in him to win and he was sooooo close!
 
you guys are so fucking annoying. THEY COULD HAVE EASILY TRIPLED. Bobby threw a super LAYED OUT double and could have very easily made it a triple. The Skiers comp just wasnt competitive enough to force a triple to happen. If The finals were Elias, Russ, Gus, Bobby and Sammy Im almost 100% sure it would have gone down. Even if someone Mahler landed all of his runs, putting bobby in 2nd, he might have thrown it out there.
 
Not sure if it was just me but I could only watch dub 12 and 14's so much... it got to the point where i had breaking bad on netflix and that was monoploizing my attention over big air.

how nice would it have been to see a huge switch 0

or huge switch cork 7/9 grapped with a truck driver
 
bobby browns ad of him talking about doing a tripple at x got everyone stoked, then he couldn't back it up there for i was dissapointed
 
real skiing is not hucking and getting the most rotations its about how smooth you can pull it off i think people like henrick or jossi should win even though they werent throwing ridiculos pencil spins
 
Honestly x games favorites snowboarding. they have snowboarding street and the video comp. They need to figure out that skiiers kill street/ urban too.
 
Some of the boarders (toutant) in big air final did triples before and didn't do it during X-Games. Same for skiers (Sammy, Bobby). The jump wasn't big enough to try safe triples.
