rents wont let me ski cause i dont have honors... no ski pass no nothing, my season ended before it even started, with out even an injury... beatski has been taking to a new level

wow dude thats super gay, will they get you a pass if you get honors for the second quarter of the first semester?

in my opinion parents who do stuff like that are such dumbasses i doubt not letting you ski is gunna make you want to work harder in school, it would just piss me off and probably end up with me skipping class to ski somewhere :P

im a sophmore in high school, i think i need signatures from rents or guardians or some shit, plus i relie on them a tonnnn for rides up to the mountain, even though i have my license i cant get to many days on just by sketching up there myself

Get off the internet and start studying then. High school is the easiest shit you'll ever do in your life.

i dunno about that... once he's in college he'll meet a few girls who are easier than high school.

my solution when my parents threatened to stop helping me afford skiing when i was younger because of bad grades was to intentionally fail all my classes. didn't really help me school-wise, but my parents gave up and i got to ski. and i'm not saying i recommend that idea... just sayin it worked for me.

see thats why i love buying all my own shit, so if they say anything alright fuck off im going shreddin. you cant take it away

^dito. im glad i buy all my shit so they cant take it away.

just get a job and by it urself or somthing. otherwise try talking to them, it does work sometimes.

if i dont make the class average in every class, i cant ski this year. unfortunetly im at a 59 in math, a 50 in english, and my other two are well above average.

so hopefully they go soft.

and to those who say like "take charge of your life" and stuff, you clearly have easy going parents. try having parents who if you go against their rules, tell you to leave their house. and im not leaving. fuck that. i live on the lake.

sorry, dude, but i've been there. my parents have told me to leave. when that's happening, there's a huge communication problem. the way i always saw it was that my parents being assholes shouldn't keep me from doing what i love to do or taking charge of my own life. if they have a problem with me making my own decisions and being my own person, they need to grow the fuck up.

my parents would never say that to me, they know I love it the most. are you actually gonna listen to them, jus buy one urself and go skiing with ur friends.

i completely realize its a bluff. he loves me, he has good intentions. but still, he has control over my life. i have a very controlling dad.

i did, too, and i'm tellin ya- there comes a time when you hafta stick it to the man and let him know you're the boss of your own life. he's got to come to grips with it, period. don't worry, it's a pretty typical struggle, you just have to make sure you win or have fun having your dad try to control your life for a looooooooong time.

no way! in all your sales you looked at least 18, unless that was someone else...holy shit, i thought you were way older, you seem way older on here too. That blows dude, my rents know i love skiing and they dont acutally take it away itself, they just might cancel a trip i have planned if im not doing well...have them do that, try and see if they'll give you a chance and besides, its not the grades during the year that count, its the ones at the end of the year that really matter, my math teacher told us that.

ask your teachers about maing up grades and extra credit. get the grades! I dont think my parents would do that, they know how much I love it. I dont have to worry though, i have a 92% average. It's really not that hard, get all the work done on time, extra effort on big assingments, dont skip alot and an "A" is easy.

tell them skiing is ur anti drug and it keeps u off the streets

or just act really depressed and unmotivated and im sure ur rents will ease up

im a freshman and im in the same baot as you man.shake it off try harder.thats what im doing.apologize snape you're way out thats what i did.

im a freshman and im in the same baot as you man.shake it off try harder.thats what im doing.apologize snape you're way out thats what i did.

thats why im glad i bught all my shit so they cant stop me. but seriously you should just really work on your grades. its so worth it

im in the same position as you, dumb thing is my parents tell me to get a job but im only 15 and i cant get employeed untill im 16 and i wont beable to make $600 in a month so just be dicks to them untill they finially agree or tell them if you have an honors gpa by middle of marking period to get you a pass thats my plan hopefully they'll be leanient(sp)

not true i had my first job when i was 14 at this orchard place. if you go to an indpenedently owned business they will most likely hook you up with a job, but dont expect anything more than minimum wage, but hey its $$$

yea that fucking sucks. im kind of in the same boat as you. same age, except the marking period doesnt end until after the deadline for season passes since im buying it with my school. so it doesnt really matter for me that much ha

Make that 3

I buy all my own shit, but they like wont let me leave the house or give me rides and shit

But this year im lucky i have easy teachers so ill be able to get up

the only problem is work- but the shop is how i get all my gear---hmmmm....

nomensteven stop talking so much shit about making your own decision and being too cool for your parents. we all know what it's like to live with parents, some people aren't so spoiled that they can run around a do whatever they want and push their parents around. however, high school grades dont mean anything as long as you dont fuck up so much that you cant get into college so you should try to convince them to give you a little slack.

that sucks, my parents know i would be so pissed if they did that. tell them you are going to fail more now on purpose? it worked for my buddy. and go through with it for a couple weeks and bring home failing test grades, they will most likely let you ski. then be sure you bring them back up though....

yea i did odd jobs at 12 and 13. 14 on up real work. I even had to pay for gas when I was driving my parents car during my 35 hours with my permit. It really blows but I think that it will all work out in the long run.

true but if he is going to be responsible for the things in his life that he wants to be responsible (ie. deciding whether skiing or school is more important) he also needs to be responsible for the things he doesnt want to be responsible for (ie. paying for your own pass and finding your own way to the mountain)

yeah i buy all my own shit including season pass, the only things my parents pay for are family trips out west. the ride thing is hard to get around if your only 15, but you should still be able to find rides for some days

damn you all have some nazi parents. Honestly as long as i keep my grades above a 3.0 my parents could care less what I do. I mean I am 17 getting ready to move out here in about a year but still when I was 15-16 my parents still would never take anything as big as skiing away from me

as my parents say(ironically enough) just give it time and try to work it out becuase if skiing what you love and they care then you will have a ski season

boohoo.. wait til you grow up and have to deal with the reality of the not high school world. and im not saying that be mean to the thread creator.  thread creator: that sucks.. but tuff it up, and bring your grades up so that you show your parents yo are really serious about being obsessed with skiing... its gonna suck a lot worst when you are in your early 20s and struggling to pay rent and school loans and what not.

oh man... i aide for this frosh class in the mornings and some kid today was saying that his parents were doing the same thing cause he had 1 C and 2 B's... but his classes were easy as shit, and he's a smart kid. i told him to get his shit together cause there was no reason to be doing badly.

the good thing is now he is motivated

the bad thing is that now he is hella pissed at his parents and is probably going to get back at them by doing something stupid.

it's funny though.

he's got a 3 page petition that he has everyone sign to try and get his parents to let him snowboard (i know, the darkside). there is even a little spots for comments. kids are like, "your son is kind and respectable and deserves to shred the gnar."
