No poles

From what I can see it is just cuz no-pole skiers usually don't seem to know what to do with their arms without the poles and it just looks silly. That is my 2 cents on it...

people started using no-poles because they saw t-wall do it but now they see videos of him using poles so now they use them again
 
^something tells me he's as much of a follower as anyone else.

i know kids that ride no poles and look better than pep and andy doing it, but they've been doing it for a long ass time.

like that other guy said stop trying to figure out why other people do what they do.
 
people dont like it mostly...because newbs ski with no poles and alot of people dont like the style of no poles in general...and most people who ride no poles dont do it for its functional diff, they do it to look like pep and t wash
 
its a personal choice... people shouldn't force their opinions of whats gay or not on others... and likewise people shouldn't care what others think, JUST DO WHAT FEELS RIGHT FOR YOURSELF
 
think about it, all the lame sports use no poles. ski blading, snowboarding, snowshoeing, rock climbing, baseball, curling, football, high jump, soccer, volleyball, shot put, discus, golf, mtn biking, cricket, weight lifting, running, long jump, basketball, lawn bowling, badminton, boxing, tennis, horseshoes, juggling, speed walking, swimming, dominoes, lacrosse, poker, cheerleading, wrestling, cockfighting, base jumping, hammer throw, triple jump, surfing, wakeboarding, kayaking, streetluge, BMX, paintballing, ice climbing, skateboarding, scuba diving, pole vault, fishing (okay, so pole vault and fishing use poles, but you get the idea), etc...
 
i did it this season. preatty fun. going back to poles next year just for filming sake. im not the biggest fan of how it looks on film

whats the difference who cares ill go some days with them and some days with out it dont matter
 
it does look pretty dumb for most people.

but it is nice not having something in your hands, I often shralp without use of my stunt pokers, I know I look stupid, esspecially in the lift lines when yuo have to go up a slight incline, or down. bUt its neet, I dont care what anyone says. I only use poles for pushing, and for lift line maneuvering. And since you can skate, and snowplow... poles? really? point please?
 
i think its dope.... if you can pull it off which takes style otherwise. you look like a nerd who got his poles stolen from him/her by his little sister
 
Personally I think it looks dumb. I've fooled around with no poles before and its fun but I would never seriously ski wihtout poles. They help initiate turns and keep your balance
 
Try dropping the poles for a whole day. Leave them in your car, then go try it. It can be really fun. Or it can suck and you might hate it. Just don't go bashing it until you give it a shot. It's a very easy thing to try.

no poles is fun, some people like it, some people don't. it's not for everyone.
 
^i realize that it was his own choice but he thought it looked cool. just like those other people see it and think it looks cool. he was influenced by someone.
 
I knocked it myself until I tried it.

There's some aspects of skiing (and i'm talking about all skiing, not just park) that can get real creative without poles.

There are places where you want them though too.
 
to tell you the times i've used no poles....filming and to work on grabs, not because it is the cooooliest shit ever
 
No poles is super fun, I don't get why people bash it all the time. Sure you might not look uber steezy, but who cares if your having fun, plus it helps to get grabs down easier
