I'm f***ing pissed off. I've been skiing since this shit began. I chose to drop the poles last season cause I ski at a shitty ass mountain with a rope tow. I found that I was having way more fun without poles in my hand. Now there is a poll on the front page of the site where thousands of 12-16 year olds are going to call me a faggot. I think it sucks becasue I choose to lose part of my equipment that really serves no purpose to me and now I become a a fag snowblader. Get rid of the poll it's making me angry.

who cares of you start skiing without poles, and if people start doing one foot grinds.

I would only get annoyed with people who would act like they are hot shit because they can do it, like if they start bragging
 
ya, fuck people who hate on you r for it. You're having fun, who the fuck cares. people will always hate when you g against the norm. I ski without poles on rare occasions, and I have always had a blast doing it, definitly am going to do it more often this season.
 
anybody that is talking shit right now needs to know who they are talking to, i remember seeing craig doin crazy shit way back in the day on here, hes an amazing skier, and i personally do not care whether he has poles or not
 
one thing that is fun without poles is carving really hard and reaching on the snow (like surfing) but i guess you can do it with poles too

I don't get why people hate on others for doing what they feel is fun. please, someone explain how not using poles is bad? and please, don't use the word gay, it makes you sound like you're 13 (ok, so most of you are, but whatever).
 
if you hate when people dont use poles, then use yours, dont be a bitch and complain about it, its not going to change anything.. if people are having fun not using poles then theyre going to keep on not using them

why is the poll not cool? We're asking peoples opinions on a topic. You're free to do whatever you like - no matter what people on the internet tell you.
 
I'd say if it's easier, do it. I've thought of it before, but I'm just so used to poles that I can't ski without them! I think most people give you shit just because it's something different and this site's members are 80% narrow minded 13-15 year old park rats.
 
no one gets it I actually enjoy skiing without poles more than with poles. I guess I just don't like the poll becasue It's directed at myself. Most people prefer poles becasue it's traditional and they are used to it, and thats cool but I'm still a skier, poles or no poles.
 
I just think it looks retarded without poles, I have nothing against the people, but it just looks so akward to me, empty hands flailing.
 
I like poles because i learned to ski by pole planting when i turn, which i do still, and with moguls too.
 
i skied no poles for 2 months last season because i broke my wrist. If you are a good skier it makes no difference unless you are skiing big mtn, which i have none here. No poles is sick.
 
i think poles give skiing a unique look and style in the park, and id hate to see the sport go in a direction that makes us more similar to boarders and bladers. do what you want by all means, but as freeskiing begins to break into the mainstream i would hate to see us coming off awkwardly large snowblade wearers.
 
The correct answer to that poll is "grabbing better than you"... because it's true. I don't like skiing without poles myself, but try it sometime, grabbing IS way easier.

Hell, Andy makes it look pretty good.
 
it's harder to balance without poles... i respect non-polers a ton if they're pretty good... seriously though, that shit is hard to do
 
all of you are fools, damn near half of this gay site actually voted one footers over no poles, all of you should quit skiing immediatly and start figure skating you fuckin faggots. One footers are always gay never can look cool and never will, on the other hand skiers are the only sport than has poles and why, because we are stubborn, relax forget about the rules, hold your fuckin grabs and stop doing one footers
 
the problem with the poll is theres no middle ground..its either gay or awesome..they need a its ok option

ummm no different would be the middle option and that is what i chose, and if you really like skiing no poles then delete this thread and never mention it again because who cares, enjoy skiing, with or without poles, dont let me or anyone else make you feel gay because you like to ski with free hands, personally, I LIKE TO HAVE A STEERING WHEEL OF A GO KART IN MY HANDS SO IT LOOKS LIKE REAL LIFE DRIVING, NO ONE CALLS ME GAY AND IF THEY DO THEY CAN GO FUCK THEMSELVES

i don't understand why people get bothered by what other people hate on. people hate on me all day and i just flip em the bird and keep on keepin on. i deserve the hate though, i'm gayer than one foot grinds.
 
Hey man, do what ever the hell you want, but unless you have mad steeze, you're gonna look pretty damn stupid. Skiing without poles is kinda like skiboarding. Any of the people i've seen without poles stiffen up their arms for balance and stuff. Looks so bad. Your poles help you do so much man. Even in the air i think they help me keep balance. And if you get stuck on the flats, you gotta push and skate your way out. You probably have to sit down to get your binding off too huh?
