No Park at Louise for 06/07

I was there this weekend and one of the park guys told me to write in and tell RCR they need a park next year at Louise. They want to take it out and not even build one next year (Like they were planning for this year until we all wrote in).

This is what I wrote:

I have heard from different people that you are thinking of not even making a park next season after 3 years of incredible dedication and commitment to your parks. This commitment to your terrain parks at both Lake Louise and Nakiska was the reason why I bought season passes in 03/04 and 04/05. When I heard you were cutting back on your parks this season I didn't buy a season pass, and until last weekend, I had only skied at Sunshine. However, after riding the park this weekend, I don't think I'll be back at Sunshine until Louise's park closes.

The main reason you should build an expert park again next year is this: Sunshine has better snow on 90% of days. They also have a park. Their park is not as good, but it is fun to play around in. It also feels less crowded there because of the lay-out of the mountain. They are also much closer. However, when you have a park like Lake Louise does right now, unless Sunshine gets 40 cm of snow and Louise gets none, Louise is more fun.

On a day where the snow isn't fresh, the park is the next best thing and a huge attraction for many skiers and snowboarders 12-30 years old. In fact, nearly everyone I know plans their trip around which terrain parks are the best. You cannot predict the snow conditions, but you can predict the parks.

I cannot speak for eveyone, but for me and dozens of my friends, your park is by far the biggest reason we go to Lake Louise. As for Nakiska, it is the ONLY reason.

Please, do not make the mistake of underestimating the singificance of your parks. And please don't think that just having a park is good enough. Sunshine has a park; Louise and Nakiska have great parks.

wtf is going on over at rcr? after we all complained and i know most of calgarys ski and board community complained, they opend a sick park at louise, and nakiskas park is sick right now, and they are gonna close it again next year? wow, they really have some isssues going on over at their offices

If everyone writes a mature decent letter to RCR stating that Sunshine and Jasper (for us edmontonians) are better hills to ride at due to their closeness, relative small crowds, etc and that they would be losing our business if they did not build a park, we may be able to persuade them otherwise. Remember words such as fuck, shit, assholes, cocksuckers, and such only prove the point that were young ignorant punks. Proabably the ignorant young punks they couldn't care less if they had a park or if they even went to their mountain again.

Just to show what we'd be missing in Alberta next year.

yeah louise is pretty nice right now the tables are smaller then usual but they have more kick for your flick. the QP is alright there is a ghetto hip carved out of it that you can launch, the other hips are bunk but the rails are good too. worth checking out

I talked to the park maintanence crew yesterday and they said that there will be no park next year, unless people start writing in emails, and putting comments in the comment box. There is a comment box at the top of the park now, so get writing about how much you love lake louises park.

I was at louise yesterday and it was sick. The park was awsome and there was a foot of pow at the top.

yeah me and panzieman were there and the park was pretty good, I thought it took a big step down from what it was last year. but there was lots of pow yesterday cuz it snowed, but over all the park was pretty good, not enough rails but the jumps were good.

They can't take it away next year everyone write in !

oh you and panzieman? Did you have gay sex after that to? Just shut up you douche and quit being such a post whore

Yay! I got a reply back to my email I sent them and they say there will be a park next year:

Dear Panzieman,

This ski season we introduced the Telus Terrain Park and will be continuing

with the program next year. Thank you for your inquiry.

heres the email I received from RCR:

Hi Brendan,

Thank you for you email. I would just like to say that there are a lot of rumors going around, and they are just that. From what I have been told, RCR will not be getting rid of our Terrain Parks. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks

sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet, also the park is already sponsored by telus, all the peps in the louise slopestyle got a t shirt that said telus terrain park, and another thing i realised all the different big resorts ahve parks sponsored by mobile phone co.s louise has telus, shine has the rogers park and cop has the bell mobile park.

i think shine just got a sponsor cause they saw the weakness of louis' park. maybe telus finally gave louise some money to help build one.

about the size of chaos last year, and they just made it bigger last week, its well over 50, if u land sweet spot i would say more like 60+

thats good. i definatly thought the park was better last year. This year there is very few rails and the jumps arent really set up with any flow to them
