No one in my school skis...

I live in maine, so you would think that the odds would be in my favor when it comes to friends that ski. But its not, I have two friends who are good freestyle skiers in my school. I look around my classroom and see no one who skis. In any of my classes... It's actually really sad

Your thread title and this sentence lead me to conclude decisively that you're retarded.

Its not that bad......I snowboard with the only other person that snowboards in the school, and theres only 2 other skateboarders in my school of 2000. Work with what you got...make some friends on the mountain or something

I think you should wear your XL outerwear to school. I hear the "gay fireman" look is really popular in the Northeast.

Haha asian boy has 0 friends

Everybody (yes literally everybody) in my school skis or has skied once in their lives, yet only two people have heard of freestyle skiing, which sucks too. But the occasional groomer day with friends is actually quite nice.

Talk to more people? I bet there are lots of people that ski at OP's school but he hasn't been social enough to meet them.

" I look around my classroom and see no one who skis."

That's the best way to find out if somebody skis. Just glance around the classroom, nope nobody here wearing a tall tee, and full tilts to school. I guess none of them ski = flawless logic.

Also I'd care much more about not having people to ride with at the mountain than not having my school be 90% skiers.

So... what's your point?

Most kids in my high school had no idea what freestyle skiing was. They knew that my friends and I skied a lot, but that was it. Didn't bother me though, I even I kinda liked it in a way. When the chance came to tell someone what we actually do or show them videos, their reactions are always amusing. Oh, and I'd always have to laugh when people would ask me why I have a cheeseburger on my t-shirt or what Saga is or how my shirt isn't actually orange or how orange or gibberish is spelled wrong.

What was even more amusing was explaining to them what downhill mountain biking is. I had one friend in HS who'd I'd always bike with, and nobody else rode DH and only a handful did or used to ride some sort of mountain bike. Most of our friends knew we liked to ride bikes but figured we either just dicked around our neighborhood like everyone did when they were 12 (and thought we were weird because of it) or thought we just ride cross country (which to them is just biking along walking paths that happen to be in the woods). Showing them videos of DH riding would often blow them away. They'd have no clue people do that. We brought our DH bikes to school one day on the top of my buddy's car and so many people would stare/comment on them. We were riding around the parking lot after class and were letting other kids ride them and they'd love it.

I'm from Maine too btw. Scarborough, to be exact. What high school do you go to?

I live in Maine as well. There are plenty of kids in my school who ski and I usually see a kid from my town whenever I ski at Sunday River or Sugarloaf. I live in York by the way, where in Maine do you live?

This kid who looks like he doesn't ski at all sits in front of me and I saw his background on his phone and it was him in like keystone so I asked and he's been skiing for most of his life and he doesn't ski park. Kids going to whistler too I'm so jelly

I live in the bay area and most people at my school barely know what skiing is, let alone park skiing. The most frequently asked question is "wHY don't y0u sn0wbOArd?"

i want you to go cry me a nice river in your room, become a civil engineer, design the next golden gate bridge, build it, and get the fuck over it

Remember kids there is life after high school or middle school for some of you. Sure you might be the "only" person in your small pond. Get over it and get moving. In 10 years you most likely will not remember most of the "friends" from school.

Do you guys have a school newspaper? Take out a front page personal add looking for fellow skiers to bond with. Will probably only cost you about $3.50.

Of print up business cards and stick them in everyones lockers.

sounds like a good way to get laid

I've been in this situation. The only thing you can do is educate them on freeskiing. Here's how you do that:

Every day, come in dressed in your park attire. Nothing less than xxl is acceptable, unless you're taller than 5'8, then everything must be xxxxl. Remember to where your full tilts, because no-one likes shin bang and math class together.

Change your vocabulary. Every other word you say is now 'dope' or 'sick'. If your teacher writes something that you actually understand, say 'whaaaaaaaaaaaaaattttttttttt'. Extra emphasis on the 'aaaaaaaaaaaaa' bit, and remember to increase the pitch of your voice while saying it.

420blazeitfgt.

Ask your geography teacher 'How do you get to Chad's gap from the bottom of Alta".

Follow these simple steps to educate everyone on how 'based' skiers are, you'll see them flooding to the hill in a matter of weeks.

One day I might write a self help book.
