so right now im just gona say straight out what i think alot of people are thinking

i was watching the dew tour snowbaording and they showed the highlights of the  womens snowbaording slope style. the second place run was a box slide, to box slide, to 180, to skip the down rail, to 360, to 540 and the only difference between that and first was first place run was she did presses on the boxes and didnt skip the down railseriously!!! thats PA THET IC, 5's! i dould do those easy off that jump and so could any male whos freestyle skied/boarded for more than 3 years, 

like i dont mean to hate on the women, cause they kill at big mountain and stuff, but park and pipe is (for lack of better words) lame, when a podium run can include a straight air in pipe, or a skipping one of the features in slopestyle.  i find that odd, and the wierd part is iv seen some girls kill it, but yet the compitition isnt really getting more intense. like if i were to get a sex change id be the next sara burke, but if sara were to do the reverse she wouldnt even be a roookie in the guy leauge

now so far iv done a lot of whining and hating (sorry sara, and others female's) so now im gona ask my question. how come womens comps havent gotten more aggresive? i know you ladies dont have balls (literally) but hows it stayed so mellow?

yes.

skiing is a different story. i watched women's pipe at whistler last april and most of the girls sucked but there were a few that were doing some pretty rediculous shit. im pretty sure hudak did a 9.

im not sure, but i totally agree with the chicks on snowboards, not to be stereotypical , or judgmental, haha but they all just seem like fuckin tomboys who focus more on their image and their badassness and being like that dike kelley clarke or whatever his, ehhem i mean her name is. and theyre not even having fun, like its all about status or somthing, at least thats the way it is around here at bachelor.

girls on skis are soo attractive. like they actually get the fact that theres more options to snowsports than just whatevery one else does, and they're there to just ride and have fun.

a girl on twin tips is such a fuckin turn on. i wish there were more of them.
 
I don't get how there are 10 year olds that just rip but women more often than not don't. I mean I respect womens sports and all that(my mom got a full ride to college for waterskiing/claim) but that video just had a bunch of shaky 50-50 to straight airs. I know there have to be better women out there.

seriously thats bull that they can skip features and still place in the podium if jossi wells skiped something everyone would freakout.

i dunno, i watched roxy chicken jam 4 years ago..and the level of women's snowboarding there was a lot higher than what i've seen at dew tour!
 
I actually know a girl who snowboards better than that, indoor, in ski dubai, on the tiny kickers. Shes doing 7s on these little 15 ft things and their throwing fives of them, whaaat?!
 
I remember watching a ladies comp at Northstar maybe, two years ago, and the judges shit because one of them tried a seven. No grab, backseat, washout landing, and it was a guaranteed first. Granted, I've nearly really seen any female skiing shit so I can't comment on that
 
judges will award podium spots to whomever rides the best on that particular day. Sure skipping features sucks to see, but someone who skips features is better than someone who fell or failed to finish the course.
 
I watched the womens ski slopestyle exhibition last saturday and I was pleasantly surprised with how they did and it wasnt even a big competition. Sarah threw a 9 which she stomped on her last run. The womens ski slope did not reflect what you described about snowboarders. Tanner Hall was watching and he was pretty pleased with it as well.
 
yeah girl snowboarders suck, in they're superpipe runs in the x games they air out of their first hits and they rest they cant even get out of the pipe, its soooo funny to watch.
 
girls ski slope was sick! kim was doing zeros and sarah was spinning like crazy...and her ski came off on the last hit and she still skied away. kim was doing blind 270 off the down rail and kaya was spinning like crazy. and i am not saying that it is close to what the guys were doing...but it was better then the snowboarders...it is not fair to compare the 2. the skiers didnt skip stuff....not from what i could see at the bottom b/c apparently girl skiers arnt cool enough to show int eh big screen the whole run, but they were throwing down. and grete was killing it too! the the pipe was good too! the girls killed it at mount snow. i hope they get to have it be a real comp next year and not just an exhibition.
 
Take a bunch of western/ modern antho, or social science classes and it will be clear.

Women are lead away from action sports by today's society, where extreme sports are male dominated. It seems like me that girls could be just as good as guys physically minus some testosterone. It's just that culturally not many of them are pushed to excel.
 
i saw a snowboarder chick throw a grabbed cork 7 at keystone night skiing one day. it was way sick
 
I sorta know what you mean about girls snowboarding comps, every time i happen to catch one it's usually pretty lame. But i wouldn't completely write off girls in skiing or snowboarding, maybe they just don't have that "I need to be the alpha-male and win" spirit that boys have.

In any case, i think girl skiers and snowboarders are pretty rad outside of comps. For instance, i happened to have this picture of Kim Lamare from like 2 years ago in my account. Lipslide on a big drop rail, impressive.

yah no hate to all the girls out there either but it cant be that much harder as a girl to pull stuff over a 7.. but sarah b is gnarly and she would def be a rookie if she was a guy
 
well i haven't seen alot of amazing tricks come out of girl boarders or skiers, but i only have to say one thing about this one particular russian girl skier...what where you are fucking going and then when you run over someone tell them sorry at least, and its not the other persons fault if you run it to the back of them
 
I'm sorry but a 9 in the pipe is not ridiculous shit, that's like the easiest trick in most guys runs
 
Yeah girls skiers definitely flew by girls snowboarders in the progression aspect, girls skiing is definitely coming up in the world and is looking like it will only go further. By the way Kaya is sick at slope along with sarah burke in pipe
 
i love that you have that sick pic of kim! and the thing is while is is amazing outside of comps...she took 2nd at the dew tour at mount snow...and she killed it!!
 
its true women suck at all the extremes sports.....except for having kids of course. thats one sport that theyl always have on us guys.
 
no skiers and baorders ladies are lacking, but i only had solid proof from the dew tour snowbaording because thats all i was able to see

Natasha Zurek does all four 7s with good grabs, not one skier girl can do that yet.
Gretchen, Kelly, Torah, are sick in the pipe. Sarah is the only girl skier who even compares to what they are doing. Kelly was doing runs at WSC last year going bigger than 90% of the skier guys.
And to the thread poster, how do you expect girls to take the "no offense" part of your thread title seriously?
 
Usually I don't reply to stuff on NS, but this is just ridiculous. First of all, you can't watch a snowboard girls comp and then go ahead and say girl skiers suck. So unfair. I will be the first to agree with everyone that YEAH, GIRLS AREN'T AS GOOD AS GUYS. I've spent a lot of time trying to figure out why guys are better. You look at any sport in the world and males dominate women, that's just how it is. They're physically stronger. But what I saw and experienced at Dew tour really got me stoked on girl's skiing. The fact that Kim was throwing zeros on the bottom kicker (you try that) and Sarah stomped a 9 shows that the wmn's side of things is really stepping up. So what that a 9 in the pipe is something guy's do in their run relatively "easily", the fact of the matter is girls are pushing the sport wether you know it or not. Why can't people for once stop hating and actually SUPPORT (what an idea, hey?) women in the industry. Get off the internet and go ski.
