No more illegal downloading

you are a fuckin retard buddy^^ lol not everyone has the resources to put out a fuckin album produce it all that shit it takes alot of money to produce an album its not like every joe schmo rapper can make beats in his basement on fruity loops and rap on top of them and then become the next kayne west

so if I have sharing turned off, download stuff, put it onto my ipod, then delete it from limewire, am I good?

they can't find you if you're on a laptop? is that only for public wireless networks? what about wireless networks at home? what about music produced outside of america, or recorded on a local indie label, or without a label.

this is like the prohibition of our time, in the sense that is IMPOSSIBLE to enforce. there is no way that even the fraction of millions of people that download are going to be turned in. if its accessed by the internet, theres no stopping it.

fuck em'

I think, for me at least, that the real problem is the availability of music itself in the record stores. Alot of the music I listen to is unfindable at any place in my city. And since I use a creative mp3 player, I can't use itunes because it makes the music uncompatible. I HAVE TO download the music on torrents or on limewire to find the music i like. Yes, every now and then I will go out and buy a cd of an artist I like,(the last cd I bought was bayani frome blue scholars, wich is good.)

The prices of the cds are explained in a big part because of all the travelling a cd has to do before going to the record store shelves. This is why there is alot of weakness in the system, cds almost always having a couple good tracks on them.

It is time for the governement to find a new system for artists becaus ethe era of record stores was over 5 years ago.

thats why i hate buying from itunes, while they do have a pretty wide music selection, especially with some surprisingly pretty unknown underground - the music liscense on their songs makes it so you can't do anything but listen to their music on your own computer or at times ipod (i guess not on some other mp3 players) - with the lliscence you can't edit the songs at all using ituens or garage band, you also cant share the songs w/ friends unless you burn a cd - it doesnt make sense why they'd do this since there is no liscence when you buy an album, all in all i only turn to buying on itunes when i can't find the song anywhere else

ituens now has been selling songs w/out the riaa liscense but its too late now and only on a select variety of songs

Hmm I usually don't worry about it because I don't think any of the music I've downloaded recently has anything to do with the RIAA. I hope.

I came up with this thought...

Where do you guys think this will all end? Will more and more ppl start downloading illegally or will more and more ppl start buying songs on the net? Its gonna be really interesting, coz no more record companies, less artist i guess...

just don't share the files...make sure your file sharing is turned off...notice how she got in trouble for distribution over 1,000 files

to add to what i said, i'm not saying that you can't get it trouble for downloading...but i know that those people are after the distributors as they are the start of the problem

its ironic because you get rappers rapping about gangbanging and drug dealing and they complain that people are "stealing" their music. greedy bastards

damn i've been using limewire so much lately! well actually frostwire but same thing. oh well thats how it goes i'll just be a dumbass and not do anything about it

I work with computer and such for a living, internet and programming work. So here's my two cents.

1.Don't be too scared, Honestly, if your gonna use bit torrent, go ahead and use it, wanna know what ISP's see transferring when you are downloading, a bunch of random snippets of data and garbled packets, All that they can do is honestly tell if your USING bit torrent, not what your downloading. They are able to throttle you, slow down your transfers. Guess what, they have no case about what your downloading, bit torrent is being used as a commercial way to transfer podcasts, software, and videos. And now there some bit technology that can't be throttled, it looks like normal data.

2. If you have without a doubt your gonna get busted, smash the hard drive. First reformat it, then reformat it, then take it outback with a baseball bat, hammer, flame thrower whatever your heart desires, and smash that thing. Next up, set your router to a dynamic ip address, make it change every 10 minutes, drives ISP's Crazy. I know its sad, but make a backup. and put it in lockbox or something. The only proof they would have is that, there was A.) Bit torrent being used B.) Any Mp3 player you own with the files is proof, they are the same files you had on the original hard drive.

3. Limewire is now the king, Ares, Kazaa, Napster, Bearshare all got nailed, but limewire is still going. It doesnt help everyone using it if you turn off sharing, but unfortunately we have to so do it. Now files being transferred this way is a direct transfer, it takes the pieces in line, in order. so they can be identified. now this is basically a no brainer, don't share, Let our canadian friend share it to us, they can't be touched,

4. Not all isp's will give up your logs, some contractually will not. But they have been known to do so here and there, you get a notice saying we have logs, you ask to see the logs, even if you can't understand what they mean, ask to see them, Their is a chance they are bluffing, a good chance. The most proof they have, is finding the data and you admitting to it. Remember the biggest problem they have is sharing, so seed for a little bit on bit torrent, then kill it.

5. If the RIAA says they were "in" your computer at any time, sue the shit out of them for computer fraud. Thats plain old hacking, even if they bluffing go for it. Look what happened when they went into the pirates bay servers, The riaa and mpaa now have a huge lawsuit on them for it, and it isn't looking good they will most likely get sabotage.

im not saying steal music, movies, games, and etc. im just saying just in case, No one has the right to the data on your computer without a warrant remember

and if your isp is locating files on your computer, they are most likely violating their terms of service.

Use pirates bay for torrents, because other ones can have too much pressure on them, and fold and give away ALL of their user data including logs. AKA torrentspy and isohunt.....for the u.s they had to.

albumbase.....the rar files mask whats actually in them, biggest worry is that they are convicted and are forced to turn over user logs and data, or the riaa forces their webhost to do the same,i would shy away from them, Hell look tv-links.co.uk is shut down, and all they did was give links to privately hosted videos, if you type it into google, you would find the same thing. dumb, dumb, dumb. Our judicical system can't handle this new technology and the software patents crisis.

but hey, alluc.org is still going

Just wondering... obviously, programs like Limewire and Bearshare and Kazaa are the ones being busted right now, but what about BitTorrents. Surely, with it being used to provide legal content, you could argue that you were downloading legal torrents.

Does this work? I'm not sure whether they can see what torrent you were downloading, unless they saw the .torrent file you downloaded.

Well, the previous version of Bearshare. Which some people still have (i.e. me.)

Like, BearShare Pro v. 5.0+ or something. Not the current bearshare. Current bearshare is kinda like itunes

go into your library on limwire and highlight all your songs. right click on them and then select "stop sharing"

If theyve only caught a couple thousand people out of 9,000,000 that's not very many... downloading illegal music is where its at.

Exactly what I do.

Also easy to give your friend the latest TV show episodes, movies, and get some from him.
