im sick of all these jonny rain clouds we got here yes we know this weather sucks right now. get over it.
 
dude, know your shit before you call the east coast out on having no snow. explain to me why the west coast has an incredible amount of snow.
 
you can't do anything about it. stop complaining. I don't have any snow either. Global warming isn't to blame. Only terrible weather patterns and God.
 
i was just there today, and we do. 52 cents of it on tuesday.....granted it was wet and heavy, but hey, it was still half a meter.
 
The trans canada is closed between Banff and Golden because heavy snowfalls have prompted a serious avalanche risk.

haha we were driving down the road from kicking horse to golden and having to swerve around little piles of slide.
 
i seriously doubt this is global warming. its warm air from the south and el nino. just wierd weather patterns, no permanent changes yet
 
i asked my history teacher and he was like golobal warming hasnt even started yet and its just a warm winter, like we had one a couple years ago,

but yeah i just think it sucks i dont really care what caused it, it just sucks
 
El nino alters the jet stream across north america because warm water is drawn into the south pacific off the western coast of south america ever 7 years or whatever. Hence different weather patterns in US and A this winter. Nothing to do with global warming.
 
Global warming is bullshit it's just the earth going through it's natural climate change. Where I am sitting right now was once covered by a huge ass glacier.
 
those glaciers grew and retreated over the course of several thousands years, we have glaciers retreating in the course of DECADES, your a fuck-wit.
 
Even though this winter is bad, my mountian has enough money to make snow every other day and the park is probably one of the best on the east coast right now so, meh
 
This weather is caused by global warming, because of the dramatic fluctuations in temperature. It's not like every single winter is going to be this crappy, but the overall tendance isn't looking very good. I hope this is a wakeup call to everyone who is ignorant of the effects of global warming. The thing is that people don't see how wrong this temperature is. In their minds it's just less shovelling the driveway and more time to bike and stuff. But..it's fucking January, it shouldn't be 6 degrees outside..it's just fucked up.
 
becasue when its really cold like it used to be there, theres less moisture in the air. now that its warmed up there but is still below freezing, the air can hold more moisture while which = more snow.

But that doesn't explain why it's been abnormally warm in Asia and Europe too. for Example Moscow is normally below zero at this time of the year and yet they've been experiencing temperatures in excess of 10 degrees celcius which is very similar to what I'm experiencing this year in Ottawa. On average it's 8 below at this time of year. And I've looked up several other places around the world such as Berlin, Bankok, Shanghai etc. and they are forcasting above average temperatures over the next week.

Now, I'm not some tree hugging hippy, but I can't help but think that this is slightly abnormal. I'm not going to go as far as to say that global warming has just struck us in an extreme fashion but I think that there is something to be said for this years abnormal weatehr patterns. As well as last years freak hurricane season. And heck, if walking to the bus stop instead of driving downtown and turning off a few lights I don't need etc. might help save the environment for future generations, I'm down. It would be rather short sighted and particularly naive of us not to try and think a little further down the road.
 
since when is ur history teacher the know all on global warming and if u think this is a fluke then heres a stat for you this is the third warmest winter since temperature has been recorded which goes way back into the 1700s
 
Ironically, global warming will cause an inversion of the Gulf stream. Eventaully causing sever cold weather around the world. That's if the "global warming" chaos theory is breached. Yes, the Jet stream will be heavily affected and could cause places like London and Paris to be seeing heavy snow.
 
yes, but that would take a long time to happen. there's ice age cycles every few hundred thousand years and and we're overdue for one. global warming is real, natural, and severely sped up by humans at the same time but the ultimate result of global warming will be another ice age eventually.
