Even if you are convinced its some giant conspiracy which in itself proves an ignorant mind, you think you'd be respectful on a day when thousands were directly effected. I don't care about that, at all. If the US wouldn't have fucked over the middle east, the "terrorist" attacks wouldn't have happened on such a grand scale.

The US had it coming, the citizens did not, but I think i dont think it evens out with the amount of citizens in the middle east that troops have killed.

Call them terrorists as you invade their country, kill their people, and steal their resources. If you dont think the government had it coming, i'm not sure whats wrong with you.

The good thing is, I really don't care about what people think of me. I have my beliefs, and if someone gets upset about them, because of a day, they should harden up.

^I don't know, I pretty much heard that debris from the other buildings hit building 7 and resultecd in fire inside the building, sustained over a span of time weakening the beams and once the main structural beam gave in, the building imploded.

However, there are way more people online gathering evidence and putting together theories than there are officials who actually have insider knowledge putting together youtube videos and other websites debunking the conspiracy theorists. So when only one side is presenting evidence, it's hard to make an informed decision of what to believe.

911 was not a a fucking inside job. but the US government killed more innocent people in response to the attacks than the terrorists killed in the first place. I don't give a fuck if a US soldier or a member of the Taliban kills an innocent person. It's just as fucked up to me. The government might not have done this on purpose but its response was just as inappropriate as the initial attack.

I just think there are more important things to do than sitting around and thinking about some people who died over a decade ago on a random ass day. Maybe think about it next time your government makes changes to their foreign policy, or when they talk about going to war, etc.
 
i think it is important to think about the past because as the cliche saying goes, history tends to repeat itself. if you ignorantly ignore the past then there is nothing to be learned from the past.
 
that is also true. but people really should commemorate the hundreds of thousands of civilians which died in afghanistan and to some degree in iraq, since that war probably doesnt happen either without 9/11.

fact is that some people made a lot of money with that and got exactly what they want but noone talks about all these innocent families in the middle east that got massacred for something they had no part in.

In any thread where there is a very general concensus on something or a sentimental aspect, if someone posts a different opinion, valid or not, you tell them to sit down and shut up because there are feels involved. If you think his argument isn't valid, either prove it or ignore him.

Also I apologize for my use of such a clearly defined term there. I do know what Socratic forum is.

this thread was not about 9/11 victims. The subject was about a school that did not observe a moment of silence. I was simply stating that I agree with the schools decision not to do that and explained why.

why would someone with the opposite opinion be able to speak their mind, but not me? I shouldn't have to keep thoughts to myself.

I'm not going to show up to some 9/11 memorial and say this stuff (because likely it would have a lot of family members etc), but of course I would get involved in a discussion about whether or not it's appropriate to observe a moment of silence nationwide anymore. which is what this thread is basically.

Has no point, no validity, no sources or factual information within and had no aim except to shit on the entire premise that is the tragedy of 9/11. It isn't the teachings of a philosopher or a thinker, they're the rantings of a self-absorbed punk who despite having nothing of value to say, said it loud and obnoxiously just to make himself feel better about his shitty opinions and constant negativity. THAT is why I said something, and I would really appreciate it if you held others to the ridiculously high standard you're apparently holding me to as well. It should be plainly obvious that KB is just being his spoiled, friendless asshole self and projecting his miserable outlook onto the world, not sharing insight into facts and information we didn't have before, know what I mean?
