No friends?

Perhaps this doesn't belong in non-ski gabber, but I need input. What's it like to ski with no one with you? Is it more fun, as fun, less fun than skiing with somebody?

I generally don't like it, even with music or whatever. I'm all about stopping during the run (assuming the flow supports it and not bombing/shredding/whatever) and laughing or heckling or daring to do something. I just had my most fun riding like this, with a particular group of people. I skiied Baker for 5 days once all by myself. I was a pow machine, and it was fun, but definitely not my norm.

I usually ski alone. It's just different than skiing with friends. Not more fun, not less fun, just different. When I'm with friends I'm more likely to be doing something stupid or drinking/just generally fucking around, but when I'm alone I just like to cruise around and do my own thing. Both are good.

I like skiing with people more often than not, but skiing alone can be fun if I'm in the right mood. Sometimes it's nice to just turn your music up loud and be able to go wherever you want, at whatever pace you want.

Absolutely! I have a buddy to ski with I'm just talking about when he can't go or plans are changed or whatever.

Id say its less fun, but every once and a while Ill lie and say I need to go to the lodge for some reason but really I just go cruise solo for a few runs. then I just call them or meet back up. I have no idea why I do this though.

I like mixing it up, sometimes riding with friends and sometimes just skiing solo. but i've noticed skiing by myself makes me appreciate skiing more. All i focus on is how awesome it is!

I love skiing alone really early in the morning, it helps me think. as the day goes on I like to ski my friends. but i like to ski alone to clear my mind.

in the park its not as fun, but in the woods and just crusing is more fun especially when most of your friends snowboard.............. they take so longg

this, but not as fun.

my friends are lazy as fuck so i'm often out lapping the park solo.

but it sucks when you land something sick and nobody sees it.

Last part is very true. Even though I ski with people, I sometimes land awesome tricks that I didnt think i could do and no one sees it. That's kinda unavoidable.

i always ski alone. none of my friends are good skiers. it's much more fun when i go with people but most of the time it's just me

Hmm well it's always great fun with my friends except they're all less experienced/barely ever done any sort of park so I find it hard to push myself/learn new tricks at all. I love just ripping down runs or the park alone with music full blast, no distractions, no worries :) Not that i have much of a park to learn stuff on most of the year, lol.

my friends like to talk at the top of the park and hang out in the lodge more than ski, especially on pow days, so sometimes ill just leave and take some solo laps or find other kids to shred with while they screw around in the lodge for another hour or two

I've actually found it to be a lot of fun. I love being able to just go wherever I want and ski however I please. No waiting, no holding anyone back...just out there doing your thing.

I mean this in the sincerest and non-mean way ever, but you guys need some new friends! If they are in the lodge on a pow day or bullshitting too much at the top of the park, then there is a problem. Riding with close friends in most cases just increases the stoke factor exponentially, and I mean that. Besides very specific situations where you are just straight shredding (and even that can be done with someone, no need to talk), riding with someone just makes it so much more fun.

I have had good days alone, but at the end of those days I always think to myself, "man I wish Cody, Steve, or Allen experienced it with me." Call me a non-purist or maybe I am just a social creature but I love sharing these special moments with friends.
