no edged skis

at my hill a guy had a snowboard without edges. it was made by forum, i think, called the streetdweller. i'm not sure if it would work for skis, because they might be too narrow, but i want to see some like this.

Just give me a scene where the music is free and the beer is not the life of the party.

rossignol had a ski(rossinol powair grind) whare the edge wend like inside the ski under foot (the same idea on a burton dominit(sp?) slick snowboard) so you wouldent catch an edge on rails and stuff, i dont know if thats what u mean.

On the forum site it says that the street dweller is strictly for urban rail use, i dont think anybody whos not a park rat would ride that on a mountain.

really all you need to do is take a grinder and lightly grind down the edges and make sure they are rounded and not sharp at all i did it to my old cosepts and the edge it still on there after street skiing all year and it slides so much better

 
it's not even so musch catching an edge, it's just that edges break, they come up, fall out, and cause general disorder.

I hear that dynastar is going to release a ski like that for urban stuff.

720Public_enemy is right. even do this on a brand new pair of skis. just run the edge under the grinder under the boot area. if the edges are rounded then don't really have a chance to break. its hard to explain why, but it is true. like, it makes sliding easy right off the bat, so there isn't any tension on the edges.

yeah, that guy is a dumbass for using it for park riding, it has no edges! made for urban rails.

^^ Maybe that guy couldnt afford to buy another one designed for park use instead of urban, or he might have borrowed his friend's equipment for a day.

You're a dumbass for judging someone without knowing the real reason why that person used that kind of equipment on the hill.

 
hazel you dont sand anything down, you dont use sand paper on your skis. And really detuning is when you unsharpen your tips and tails, never right under your boot...although thats what people are doing now. So basically that whole post of yours was worthless, way to be a post whore.

the streetdweller has no edges not really so it wont catch on rails but so it wont get torn up on pavement and ledges etc.

I would like to see a cheap ski like that that you dont have to worry about messing up, just for urban stuff and all.

actually catching your edge is easy enough, i do it, pros do it, but you're god, so you dont do it :)

my edges got ripped out of my old 720s on a backyard rainbow rail and they still work fine, even though I doubt this is what everyones talking about

 
you better have lots of money if you want some skis like that... because it means you have at least like... 3 or 4 pairs of skis... and if not, then you shuold quit skiing.

yeah my buddy has that board it is foe urban jibbing it is aight in the patk but only for rails and such you cant land worth shit and you have no control but if you want some skis like that

check out revolution ski and snowboard mfg out of orem utah at rideharder.com they should have the new sight with ski shit up soon and they will build you some fo like 350 thats what mine cost

if u really want a no edeged ski just rip them out... i have no edges on my skis under my boot because they naturally just fell out

im sry if someone has said this already but i know a guy that rides a rome board and it has plastic edges, aparently it thosent catch edges as often.

Just get the Troublemakers and ski them on rails a lot..eventually you'll have your own no edged skis that are tyte..

do all ur edges really catch that often. I caught 1 edge this year and it didn't even send me forward, i just sorta slid off.

I live in Dirty Jersey. I curse... a lot. I say -yo- and I say it often. I sure as hell dont pump my own gas. I know a bagel is much more than a fuckin roll with a hole in the middle. they should just make a ski that has edges but there slanted on an angle where its really hard to cath them or something..

i could be really wrong with this but i heard the t-hall pros were supposed to have slanted edges...so they slide better?

i think you're right about the vertical sidewall, concept. but i heard about something different with the edges too -- that the edges come like pre-beveled with a 45 degree slant. or something like that.

my level of radness... it just can't... be quantified.
 
josh novotney (dynastar)was talkin about possibley making a urban ski with no edges and plastic for the edges....that would be sweet if it happened...jhe said they wouldmake it cheap like 150

^graham my man, ur on the right track, the tanner pros are out of the factory pre dulled edges, so they are nice for rails, you dont have to break them in

if you grind the edges under neth the boot you will never break your edge off and you will still have an edge on the tip and tail to carve in the pipe and not slid out esay on hard paced stuff
