No brake on one ski

I posted a thread a few weeks ago but didnt get much response.

One of my skis has lost is break fully, after much bending and rebending.

I was just wondering how many other people have this problem, and if its a big deal.

it bothers me but hopefully i dont really need a new pair of bindings.

If i do need a new pair of bindings can they mount totally newer different bindings in the same center mount position?

yes they can remount in the same position, and you dont really need your brake to ski but depending on where you ride and how hard it is to find your ski if it takes off down the hill on its own you might want to get some cheap powder cords to tide you over till you get your new bindings

because they are real old marker bindings that the brakes had to be bent on to fit. lol. i know that sounds sketchy.

never buy marker bindings... sorry mate.

how new are the skis you have them mounted on? I wouldn't suggest mounting a new pair of bindings onto any ski (even if they fill the holes, use those expanding screw-spring deals, or anything else they have come up with), I've seen/experienced more pairs of broken skis because of a binding remount than anything else.

i'd say yes... I'd be pretty upset if i ruined a new pair of skis by remounting new bindings on them only to see some stress fractures where the old holes were a few weeks later

i only have one and it fell off once and patrol almost kicked me out cuz it was unsafe to the other skiers so just get a cord and connect it to your binding and boot

Unfortunately brakes are not designed to crash backwards. Good news is brakes can be replaced for about 20 at your local shop. When you do buy your next set of bindings choose carefully. Some manufacturers brakes are way stronger including tyrolia, look and the new marker bindings (jester, baron.) Bindings to stay away from is the marker free series 11, 12, 14 (design flaw one backwards crash and your brakes are toast.)

def need brakes asap or a leash, a runaway ski or board can be deadly. a girl somewhere (cali i think) was killed by a runaway board, it hit a mogul or something flew up in the air and slit her throat

same thing happened to me, I landed switch and for some reason my brake caught the snow and completely ripped off so now I only have 1 brake. Today my ski popped off and went for a ride but luckily it was stopped by a tree. I raised my DIN a couple notches and most likely it will be ok. In most cases you dont even really need them.

i had some marker bindings on some publics and i broke the brake off 5 times

and i didnt want to replace binings and spend that money so i bought some amplids haha

I have snapped 3 brakes this year so far and get either a leash or most ski shops have brakes you can buy because it isnot fun worryin about it
