no andy macs

as i was watching the x games i realized another reason why skiing is so cool. we dont have any andy macs, shawn whites or tony hawks. none of are elite have sponsors from McDonalds or Target, or can be seen on Mtv. we are core, no main stream corparation has explotied are sport to sell milk or hamburgeres....

 
skiing is, was, and always will be cooler than any of those 'other' sports.

sometimes when im running water to wash dishes or something, i think about how lucky i am to have such simple access to running water and how some people will never know such a simple pleasure.

then i let it run for awhile, just because i can.

 
i dunno, i dont think having a figure for the sport like andy mac is a bad thing, cuz more kids will get into the sport if theres a kind of parent figure for the kids like tony or andy are to skateboarding, its just a matter of making sure it doesnt get out of control. But yeah moseley isnt that figure

i forgot about mosely. but he was like a boy band, ' loved one minute and then fogorten the next, and put in the pop culture garbabe bin.'

ohh well at least there isn't anymore.

 
klimp, the last thing we need in our sport is a bunch of little minnie van kids gettin in our parks and getting hurt trying ' Big Air, Mosely Moves'. If they get hurt, an army of moms will file law suits and tare down our park utopias.

yeah mosely isnt one of us. he just used a little of our flair (dinner roll) to get his name out there. when was the last time you said, ' hey lets go get trashed and watch Mosely's video part. it so sick'

 
but in a few years, they will be in, we all know it will happen eventually. but u never know when poser will strike.

maybe in the future posers will go to tanning salons to get 'Fake Goggle Tans'. kinda like kids who sandpaper their shoes to get ollie marks.

 
ppl actually sandpaper their shoes? i never knew that and i board. i did know that ppl poush their board on rails to make it look like they slid them, whic hi would never d ocause i like keping my board as in good of shape as it can, i dont like buying stuff

Skiing hasn't seen an infusion of non-endemic sponsors because as of now we don't have a fraction of the market that skateboarding/snowboarding/etc. have. It's not because we're any more 'core' than anything else. We're just smaller. I'm sure given time we'll see larger companies wanting a peice but for now it's probably not worth it for them.

it's all very exciting.
 
well mcdonalds did sponsor the rail jam contest last year. remember Ronald McDonald presented awards

yeah like who cares? moseleys a good skier no matter what. Even if he's a little 'old school' who cares? He's a skier like each and everyone of us.
