hey guys im going to NMU in January. I saw how close marquette moutnain is, and thats awesome. How far away are other ski areas?

Could you tell me what the good ski shops in the area are, or if you have any other information/advice on the area that would be cool too.

 
hello rick, you dont need to go anywhere else to ski besides MQT MTN. But if you really want, mt bohemia, and other things are about 2 hours away. but really, on a pow day, MQT has about ten cliffs ranging from 5-15 feet, not to mention lots of gurillas skiing around.

This is Brandon, I run the Shop here at Marquette, as many people on here will attest you, we specialize in PARK features, but, we do have awesome cliffs inbounds on the hill and even bigger ones on the backside.

Marquette is a very fun place to ride and I invite all those that wish to have a great adventure to visit us here in Marquette.

I dont go to Marquette for the park. I dont even go for the skiing. I go for the Greek Combo at Vango's. Oh sweet lord!

 
hey vango's does have good food, but seriously, I gaurantee you will love marquette mountain, one of the best in the midwest by far. and there is a very laid back skiing atmosphere, we all just hang out and push each other to progress.

nah shelby has it all wrong, its a very pressured ski atmosphere. Everyone is always yelling at you to do new tricks, theres hot red lights everywhere to make you hot and sweaty, and everyone is always in your face.

I go to MM to hang out with Annie Aschim yeah Hans!!! You owe me $4

I ski up at Mont Ripley but if you've got a pass to Marquette I wouldn't worry about any thing else, skiing there is sweet. Maybye try to make it to Bohemia a couple times but I wouldn't worry about much else.
