Niseko vs Shiga Kogen

Planning a trip to Japan in Feb 2014.

Have been researching and have decided that I want to ski in both Niseko and Shiga. Has anyone been to both and can compare or even been to either to give some feedback.

I hear Niseko has no japanese culture which sucks, but has really good snow.

Shiga I can't find too much info on as it seems to be Japan's "Secret".

Going to both, but want to know how much time I should spend in each. (More in niseko? or More in shiga? or the same)

Also want some terrain parks. I know Niseko has parks but does Shiga have any?

The two really don't compare. I spent a season in Niseko and have lived in Osaka for the last 3 years. Shiga has really small resorts and nowhere near the same annual snowfall.

A fairer comparison would be Hakuba (nagano) and niseko.

Hakuba has way more steeps than Niseko, NIskeo is pretty flat and not technical. However Hokkaido has blower POW.

Don't forget there are other resorts in hokkaido than Niseko. Check out Rusutsu or Furano
