Niseko - Japan

So, I'm going to Niseko in February. I'm going to need to rent some powder skis out there. Has anyone been there? Can I expect to be able to choose from a decent range of fat skis?

I was thinking about buying some Mo'ships but I'm not sure it's the right ski for me and I live in the UK (usually get a couple of weeks a year skiing in Europe) so can't demo.

A- this should be in gear talk
B- I've ridden the 195 mothership, they are pretty sweet. Although you have to be a man to handle them. This is seriously one of the only skis I might be okay with riding the 2nd largest model(185). Truthfully they are big mnt comp ski, is that what you want especially for japan? Stiff as shit, charge and are somewhat heavy because of the metal in them.
If I were going to japan I would be more apt to go for an s7 or a more jib orriented stiff powder ski than a hard charging single tail....but to each his own.

Yea I wouldn't suggest the mo'ships for japan you want something pretty soft, fat as fuck and really playful. Most of the mountain is pretty mellow tree skiing with bottomless pow. So speed isn't really what you are looking for but more float. I spent all last season riding and instructing out there.
You should have no problem with finding a pair of rental skis out there though with most of them being mounted with most of them being mounted on demo plates with jester bindings. They have an array of sizes of bacons, hell bents, pontoons and most of the other fatties you can think of. Where exactly in Niseko are you planning on staying though because it is a couple resorts there and all the rental shops are different.

I'll be staying in a condo in Niseko Hirafu which I'm told is the busiest village in Niseko.

Thanks for the advice on skis and to Local-Native. Sounds like my best bet is to just rent some stuff when I get out there. I'm pretty big (6", 235lbs) and whilst I've done quite a bit of off-piste I don't know much about fatties.

I guess this should really be in ski gear. My initial intention was just to ask about ski shops in Niseko, then my post just kind of evolved into what ski I should get...

Let me know how you get on, I'll be there next season!!!
I'd recommend JJ's, Bents, Benchetlers, EP Pro's, Chopsticks...the usual! Maybe Prophet 130's if you like stiffer skis

I went there, and there are about two or three places that have many open demos, besides they only have hellbents and jj's to demo for good powder skis
