Nirvana haters

i think they are good. i am somewhat in the middle...i used to be way into them...now im just into different kinds of music. but i still enjoy listening to them from time to time.

i hate em....i don't see why they get credit for sort of musical revolution or something...pearl jam and soudgarden were doing the same things at the same time.

i think pearl jam gets a ton of credit too. ....soundgarden..yea you are right..they dont get much credit at all. i think nirvana sounds different from them though.

I've never met anyone that actually hates them. there are peple that would never buy their cd but tey still don't hate them, maybe thats just the people my age.

nirvana is ok, but there not the best band ever, soundgarden is definetly alot better and pearl jam is also a lil better. i think alot of their publicity came from kobain killing himself

 
Pearl Jam WAS good. Now the ysuck, and they never came close to Nirvana. Soundgarden was so inconsistent. Some of their stuff rocked, and some just plain didnt.

Nirvana just started the whole 'Alternative/punk/pop' movement. A pretty big deal, although now it's dead, and most of the bands that copied them sucked, they were still probably the most influential band since Zep.

Soundgarden was more hard-rock, and Pearl Jam was a few years later.

ya if you think all the publicity is from kurts death then it's probably because you're younger. I was just on the verge of the whole nirvana movement I kinda just lived it vicariously through my older br4tyher.

Yeah I'm sorta in the middle, only really got into them when Muddy Banks came out. But they were really good/influential, and Unplugged in NY is definately a great CD. Sure there were a lot of bands doing things back then but I guess since Nirvana were from Seattle they sort of became the one everyone looked too....

 
i like nirvana, especially the unplugged cd, but i never really liked kurt cobain, and i really think that kids who turned to him as a hero in their lives should just take a step back and reevaluate themselves. he is just a guy in a band. their music is the important part.

my opinion is htat soundgarden and pearl jam didnt make it as big and have such an impactr because they WERENT as good as nirvana

the unplugged is the best by far. i was never a big fan because they werent nearly as influential as people said they were. all they did was rehash a version of punk which was nearly dead at the time they made it big

In Utero is my favorite album

and I Kurt Cobain is a great writer

I like Nirvana because the gitar, the drum,the base and the vocals let you feel the emotions of the meaning of the song and this is why Nirvana was good. I think because it's simple to play Nirvana at least at the Guitar but it's still good.

Nirvana helped the grunge scene get created...i bought a book 'Screaming Life', by Charles Peterson, basically a picture diary or the Seattle Music SCene...beautiful book, lots of info on the bands that made such huge influences to future bands: green river, nirvana, screaming trees, beat happening, seaweed, mudhoney...all the underground ones that made a huge impact...amazing book, i highly suggest you at least look at a copy, beautiful pictures

yeah courtney did kill him whether she pulled the trigger or not. most likely a hitman hired by her killed him, since he had three times more heroin then is humanly possible to have in your body, and his suicide note is half in his handwriting(just saying he was gonna quit music) and half in another(saying he was gonna kill himself). but even if you get past that, and think he did pull the trigger, its still her fault. he never did any drugs except pot before he met her, its well documented, and he was chronically depressed because of her. FUCK COURTNEY LOVE

^ go out and read heavier then heaven... its the best documentary on kurts life that has ever been published, you'll see he did kill himself, no hitmen, all that bullshit.

bottom line is courtney love is a super greedy chick, she cares about being on top, and sacraficed alot to get where she is, but where is she? no where... so when the rights to kurts songs were going to get sold, and dave grohl was gonna pick up the lute for em, courtney, having no career, no image, and needing money, took him to court, and fought for those songs that she had no connection to.... unbeleivable greed.

for those who dont think that nirvana had a huge impact on music as we see it today, its unbeleivable, pearl jam and soundgarden were both influential, but kurt was a genious, he had more creative energy then eddie and chris put together.. and thats why nirvana had the image they did
