Nine22 Apparel!! CHECK IT!!!!!

This gear looks sick! Sounds like a straight-up company doing what they love for the sport and those of us who ride!I'm stoked that Nine22 Apparel is sharing the pics, updates and growth of the company with everyone before it's all finalised. It gives us skiiers an insight into the gear we ride in and the team that makes it all possible! It's obviously not all perfect yet but I'm confident the team is doing all they can to be upfront about the new company and solve issues as they come up ... it seems to all be pretty transparent! All those haters should think about the amount of time and effort that would go into starting a clothing company and wait until the line is fully launched before attempting to bring everyone down with their negativity! Support the brand and shred hard or move on! No one likes a hater so get behind Nine22!I'm pre-ordering my gear now coz actions are gonna speak louder than words, the gear is gonna be sick and all those out on the slopes riding in this gear are gonna be supporting a young brand with a bright future whilst looking sweeeet!Peace

Cheers for the welcome! It’s a pretty small scene down here in Aussie land and Matty is doing some sweet work for the sport with Nine22 Apparel so I thought I’d jump on here, show some support and get involved with the NS community!

So just because i see blackberry and Ford adds on here i have to support them? Give me a break. His products probably are of good quality and i wish him all the best but he offers nothing new to the table. That is my opinion and you have yours as well as every other member on this site.
Oh and i will probably need this now

I love this thread.

"Sweet work for the sport"? You mean he's trying to make money? It's a business...why does everyone take this stance that because some guy decides to start a clothing company, he's doing some noble and brave thing on behalf of skiing?

The "ski community" is so silly.

Dooood, serious??? this is fuckin dope for the sport and exactly why the skiing community is the illest. Matty is hooking up a crew of riders and opening up opportunity for us to link up and push the limits with skiing and media while rocking the most ignant gear! Most people in the ski community (especially riders and owners of small companies) are not in it for the $$$$$$$$ or they would invest their time in a different industry. This industry is about the love for the sport and everything that comes with it, NOT THE $$$$$$$

^hmmm interesting article, but i think a company in this industry is doomed w/o feedback, and influence from the people repping the gear.

hahaha I love it man, publicity is publicity. Once again Matt and Nine22 are an amazing company who has invited some amazingly talented and up and coming riders to join their team. I can see the skepticism most would have since it is a new company and everyone promises new ideas and to be a major influence in the skiing community. But you cant diss what they have done and are trying to do. Matt has put his money where his mouth is by launching a full product release, not to mention being extremely RIDER ORIENTED! I personally talk to Matt all the time and he is constantly asking his riders for feedback and their ideas. How many companies or sponsors do you know keep in contact weekly with their riders? Not many; Yes Nine22 has big dreams, but isnt that what you would want in a company, not just sub-par potential? Regardless what everyone thinks Matt is giving new skiers who may or may not of had a sponsorships the chance to create a bigger name for themselves by promoting them with a companies name and affiliation. What he is trying to do for his riders is amazing! We all agree that money is a big part of being a company and cannot survive without revenue and therefore would not grow, Nine22 has the idea of doing that as little as possible by making affordable and helping their riders as much as possible. Let it be what it is and believe what you like, but riders will still be repping their clothing and the riders will still be killing it with or without the publics approval of the company which is what their true concern is with, having fun and getting back to what skiing used to be.

I feel like all of the people posting in this thread with less than 30 posts is the same person, they all use way to many exclamation points and give maddd props to 922

So does this mean the following companies are doing something for me because they advertise on NS so I should be behind them? or should I consider them contributors to the ski industry?
Lexus, American Eagle, Classmates.com, Freescore.com, hhgreg, insurance indicator, smiley creation, stereo skis, Land Yahtz, bidz.com, ditech, Nissan, Stub Hub, Breeze, Radio Shack, etc.......

First of all, anyone who advertises with NS is contributing to the ski industry, but none of those companies are advertising partners; I'm pretty sure you're talking about google ads and are either a complete idiot or are just being intentionally obtuse (which, come to think of it, doesn't dispose of the "complete idiot" possibility).

Second, what do you mean by "behind them"? If they were advertising, and "behind them" means not hating on them for no reason given that they help bring a site you enjoy to you for zero cost to you whatsoever, then yeah you probably should be.

Third, Lexus makes great cars and I plan to own an RX as soon as I am able to do so.

Acquaintance? Mere acquaintance? That cuts to the bone right there.

I have driven an RX in snow and it was latte-sipping, holier-than-thou arrogant yuppie goodness.

Actually it was basically a Toyota with a really nice interior and heated leather seats.

i was all stoked on the prices and shit..then realized you guys are from another country and it totally bummed me ouuut. I hate dealing with currency and extra shipping bullshit, so it looks like il be keeping to the jiberish from now on. In the states. yes you guys maybe cheaper but with jiberish less hassle, annnd i can actually see the product..hm weird. O someone mentioned First-drop..i will never, ever respect that company ever. Yeah, i only bought a hoodie but i waited so fuckin long for that thing and when i got it, it was uglier in person, not even that tall, and the worst quality. Oh yeah might i add that David was sooo chill and a super down to earth dude, well so is this company? hmm they look a whole lot like my friend First Drop..automatically coming out with their little videos and already have a stacked team..not trying to draw a complete comparison but just saying..idk if il ever be able to trust these little hyped up companies ever again. Thats why i think il be sticking with the bigger names and good recomdations, just my two sense.

Yes I'm being a "complete idiot and intentionally obtuse" because I'm not down with idea that no one should criticize Nine22 because they have a sticky thread on the ski gabber, which implies they're an advertising partner.
That was you logic correct?
If that's the case then we should support every company that partners with NS. I think NS is heading into some dangerous and lame territory when we have to think this way.

I think we all just have to realize that NS is not the small, tight knit group of riders it once was. It is owned by Yahoo now and as such, is a business. Do you have to go other places now to meet core groups of riders? Yup. Honestly, the people I know from SASS I value more than (almost) anyone I have met on NS. I mean, think about it. It's a huge forum and the only focusing factor is a love for skiing.

Thanks Nine22 for paying to advertise (and SASS as well). But I will not be buying one of the hoodies because a) they are not my style b) shipping from Australia is ridiculously expensive, and c) your "rider driven" brand isn't accepting any feedback from your largest group of riders...this website. Take a look at what the "haters" are saying, and rather than dismissing it, work to change them into supporters.

Stickies sure are held in high regard. I think the message here is that just because its a sticky doesnt mean you have to like it, or read it.

Things that are stickies = paid advertisements, what tanner hall said, death notices.

as for nine22, good luck to you. Next!

No, and you're just furthering the dilemma and convincing me that you are, in fact, one of those two things. I will continue to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're just ACTING thick to prolong an argument.

I did not say no one should criticize Nine22 because they have a sticky. That's a straw man worthy of an adolescent. What I said was, unless you have some other reason besides their having an ad thread to hate on Nine22 (of which reasons I can think of zero), you shouldn't be hating. They are in fact doing something good for us, and by extension, you. Do you have some other reason to hate on them? I mean if you're not into the product, fine, everyone has different tastes, but that's no grounds to hate, it's just grounds to shop elsewhere.

At the risk of bringing this back up to the top for more banter, we would like to address a couple of things.

Firstly, we are 100% open to constructive criticism, comments, suggestions, and the like. In fact, we are fully encouraging all the feedback we can get. Believe that we are taking on board everything you guys are saying, from the lovers to the haters. We don't deny we have made some mistakes already, but I'm sure you can understand that as a new company, it's pretty tough to get everything 100% right straight off the bat. However, to simply say we "are doing nothing for the ski industry" or are "simply trying to make money from other skiers" is a touch unfair, especially if you haven't been to Australia! NS probably isn't the tight knit community it once was because so many people care about what others wear, what each other listens too, how good others are, what kind of riding others are into etc. rather than focusing on our common love of skiing!! Maybe it's because we all love skiing so much, and we all care so much, that everyone wants to see it take the direction they personally favour, because that's what they see as being best for skiing, and you can't fault people for having such a strong passion. NS is an amazing place, with a ton of great, passionate people, and you can't ask for much more than that!

Haha, give us time, but here some things we believe we are doing for the sport, and will be doing in the future: providing reasonably priced garments; sponsoring ams who we all love watching and would love to see blow up; promoting the sport in a country where it otherwise receives little, to no, attention; promoting the Autralian scene to the broader ski community (Russ Henshaw is just the tip of the iceberg); and you can expect to see some Nine22 sponsored events and movies in the near future. We also want to promote a fun, happy vibe, that everyone should be feeling when they are out skiing - basically, if you're doing it with a smile, you're doing it righ!!

Thanks again to everyone for your support, suggestions, or constructive criticism. We will be bringing you more news and info very soon.
