Nine22 Apparel!! CHECK IT!!!!!

hmmm.....drawings on a website. I think a lot of people on here can draw up some clothing and make a website. Hit us up when you have pics and some actual clothing.
In the meantime I would pipe down with the claims. I am not going to speak for everyone, but I really get turned off when someone jumps on here and talks about how "steezy" their own shit is. In a world of self involved bragging types even your initial post comes across as annoying and claimy. Let others tell you that they like your stuff, don't tell that why they should. If you have to explain why they should like it then you have already insulted the intelligence of your audience.
I see these companies pop up on here almost weekly. They all look the same to me.

reasonably priced crews?- in the ski industry- blasphemy
in all seriousness though the gear does look great and the crew is definitely a good team

serrrriously.

first of all, nvermind the company's "business model," you tools, just look at the team of riders... tiiight.

second of all, why get all worked up over someone's approach to launching their biz?? so it isnt how YOU would do it. get over it.

if nickmiles is reppin', im BUYIN, plain and simple.

just look at the team of riders... tiiight ^
Word dude! All these sick riders wouldnt ride for a BS company! Just leave the negative nancy comments aside until you see the clothing that will be out in less than a month! You can't hate for wanting to build some hype for dope products!

I am curious as to why you are putting waterproof zippers on cotton hoodies...

...That doesn't make sense. And that you label your cotton hoodies and shirts as "The Ultimate stuff to ride in."

Otherwise it looks cool. Maybe make something technical and I will look a little deeper. Good Luck!

Cheers for the love NS, there has been a hell of a lot of positivity, and some legit queries and suggestions too. To those of you who have already jumped on the pre-order, thanks so much for your support, and I guarantee everyone we will have some pics of the garments up as soon as they arrive!!

Thought I should clarify, our gear is really designed for spring shredding. We fully understand that you don't want cotton hoodies and tees when you are riding pow or when it is snowing. However, colours are far more vibrant on cotton, and cotton holds significantly less smell and is a lot more durable than almost any other textile, it does hold more moisture, but there will always be a trade off. We added a small percentage of polyester to the hoodies and crews for a little more breathability and moisture wicking, but they are fully designed for spring days/sunny days. Obviously you can still get wet even in spring, but if you want to avoid that all together, technical outerwear is really the only solution. The point about waterproof zippers is simply to let you know they aren't cheap non-waterproof zippers, which once they have been left wet for any period of time start to deteriorate and no longer run smoothly.

Thanks again everyone, and we will endeavour to bring you some legit pics and some more edits very shortly!

if i didnt just order a couple fasc hoodies i would have grabed that rasta hoodie. im not a fan of the crews, but i might get a tall t or somethign

hahah 5t dfd shirt is 43 inches....still some cool stuff in my opinion i like the design, prices, technical aspects more than Jiberish

NINE22 is strait genuine. Dope product, dope vibe, dope crew. The garments are perfectly fit, and surprisingly affordable. Also, limited supply, so theres less of a chance that your gonna show up to your local hill and 10 other kids will have the same Jiberish hoodie that you just paid around $100 for. Originality.

did you ask saga. if this was ok? like you took thier pants and just took the logo out wtf

Haha yes we have contacted Saga! We are happy to have the logo there, happy to have it as is... We could have used any brightly coloured pants on the market, and it was a toss up as to whether we would use the logo and imply an affiliation or the opposite. I love Saga, it is the outerwear I personally choose to wear, and I think it's sick as hell, would never try and imply anything otherwise!!!

This is very funny -- never have I seen people scrutinize a new company so intensely. good or bad, buzz is buzz, i guess.

sweet stuff guys i really like your shirts but does it really cost $15 per shirt to ship to the US and $30 for hoodies?

First Drop's shit is awful looking.

I really enjoy watching kids salivate over product because "pros" endorse it and try and defend it even though it's glaringly obvious that it's terrible quality and poorly designed.

Ohhhh you desperate little trendwhores with access to your parent's money...the ski "industry" needs you.

Goodluck 922, but I gotta say that waterproof zippers on a cotton garment is absolutely silly. What's next...UV blocking tank tops?

I don't understand marketing yourselves as "technical garments" when you're making hoodies and t-shirts...Your designs aren't my cup of tea, but that's purely subjective, but the whole angle of "something different" seems heavy handed. Everyone always claims to be different, just prove it. What businesses come out and say "Hey, we're copying someone else's marginally successful business model/designs!".

Product description: "The Fresh hoodie is designed with all the features you have come to expect from your technical outerwear." Yeah.....except of course water proofing or functionality hahaha.

Man, I'm sorry to be so negative and cynical, but come on guys. Not to mention that you have 4 products in a handful of colorways...are there more coming? And, is it my imagination, or is the grey hoodie the exact same color scheme as that really popular Jiberish crew with the bubble comic book letters?

I think you guys have totally jumped the gun in your "launch". Can't believe people are already coughing up loot...just goes to show how desperate kids are for ski specific companies to identify with—especially considering shipping is a full 50% of the original product cost. Yikes.

^^ you heard the man, everyone stop getting brands supporting new school skiing. From now on lets all get northface and columbia outerwear. fuck the small developng brands.

Few things we should probably clarify. Firstly, by waterproof zippers, we don't mean they are built so that water can't permeate through the zipper, obviously that would be pointless on a hoodie. What we mean is that after consistent contact with water over a period of time, they will not deteriorate like some cheaper metal zippers do (esepcially if not dried properly ad quickly).

Secondly, international shipping is extremely expensive, no matter which way you look at it. Believe it or not we are already absorbing some of the shipping cost for the northern hemisphere, ie. as it stands, it will cost us more to ship you the product than we are charging you. Trust that we are doing our absolute best to improve the shipping rate even further.

Finally, yes we are a small company, and what you see on our site is our range for this year. If all goes well you will see more and more. As I'm sure you can tell from our prices we aren't simply here to make a quick buck by any means!! You gotta start somewhere!

To those of you who have shown support and positivity, we thank you so much, and to those who have given constructive criticism/comments or suggestions, we thank you also!!

What are you even talking about?

You're so core, man.

Question for you. How is 922 "supporting" skiing? Rather, they themselves are skiers and they've watched other companies have some success targeting skiers and they've pinpointed skiers as a potentially profitable target market. I'll buy the supporting angle if/when they organize/sponsor contests and actually DO something for the sport. At this point we don't even know what the gear LOOKS like, let alone what the quality is like, so why are you dick riding?

I hope you guys make it, your stuff looks great to me sorry i dont have the money to contribute right now. (and like the other guy said, id be more than happy to design for you just a heads up if you need someone...)

A better question is why are you so pissed off at these guys? what did they do to you? and i didn't mean that these guys are "supporting skiing", i ment that these "core brands" add fuel to newschool skiing, if the only brands out there were rossignol, dynastar, vokl and salomon, skiing and ns would look a lot different. And i would not be suprised at all if these guys start sponsering/holding events in the near future, no i have not seen their product, but i have a feeling that if the site admins are confident enough in this starting company, to give them an orange name and sticky thread advertizing their company, that their claims are credible.

Guys this is some real bullshit right here and I'm not talking about nine22. The way you guys are treating these people is absurd. I'm sure if you go up and read the shit you just said you have to realize how much most of you sound like total dicks.

GO

NinE 22 ! haters should probably find something useful to do wid there time and stop critisizin! unless you"ve started your own company as well you dont have a leg to stand on and your negative opinion dont matter!

Go NiNE 22 yewwww!

Man it would suck to try to run a business from AUS. Definitely feeling you guys. I ship alot to other countries, its a pain. Will definitely try to get something

How am I at all pissed? You don't need to preach to me about supporting small independent companies. If you knew anything about me, or the website I occasionally write for (not meant to be a douchey claim, but you trying to cast me in the light of corporate sheep or whatever is laughable), you'd know that I support the shit out of small quality brands that really deserve it.

Point to one thing I said that is just pure straight up hate. Everything I said was logical and honest. Sorry I'm not drinking the kool-aid just yet. I don't know how old you are or if you've been around the "scene" for very long, but much like in skateboarding, companies—particularly apparel companies—pop up all over the place and they all sort of say the right things, and more often than not these companies fail to deliver on their promises.

I'm not making any assumptions about the company, and I hope they do produce a quality product and contribute to the sport I love. However, launching their site, compiling a team, taking pre-orders, etc. before they even have actual garments to sell, let alone PHOTOGRAPH, seems a bit like putting the cart before the horse.

And, jesus, if you think that they have an orange name and a stickied thread simply because the NS powers that be have "faith" or just really believe in them, you are incredibly naive. It's called advertising, and it costs money,

Nice ideas. I'll wait and see later in the year if it ever picks up, since everyone and their roomate make clothing now.

I have to say that this is the most logical post I have read in this entire hype thread (that happened to be started by the guy who is hyping his own brand). All you guys that are getting pissed off at Casual for asking a few questions and stating his opinion need to chill out. Just because what he is saying is actually truthful and accurate (they have no clothing, no photos, nor any history) doesn't mean you have to jump down his throat. I feel the same way. Come hype your shit when you have some sort of actual stuff. The hype machine that gets going on this site based on shitty line art is laughable.
I hope the clothing turns out sick. I hope they change the game. I hope they revolutionize the apparel industry. But until they have ANYTHING in terms of actual product I am going to be a doubter.
And to the morons that think a pink name and a sticky on NS is proof of legitimacy....come on, are you serious?

High five to the guys - I know for a fact that a SHITLOAD of work and effort has gone into this, so I'm stoked to see Nine22 getting up and running..

No question, it's a tough market to crack, and even harder doing it on NS..i think the guys have their heads switched on though, so more power to them.

^ eta is a couple weeks if everything goes to plan!!! We are just as anxious, but it's in the hands of the factory, and we don't wanna rush them!! Cheers to everyone who has shown interest and support!

I could say, hey, you guys who are hating obviously enjoy Newschoolers. As advertisers, these guys are contributing to Newschoolers, and thereby, doing something for you, indirectly, because you get to keep enjoying this site. So you have a good reason to be behind them, and (unless you know the guy who runs Nine22 and he killed your dog) no reason to be a hater. That is, no reason except that it gives you a happy to act like a tough guy with firmly held opinions on the internet.

I COULD say all that. But it's too complicated. How about we keep it simple: if you like the clothes, buy them, if not, wear what you like.
