Nine Knights vs JOSS

who do you think puts on a better event?

who do you think has sicker features?

For me, Nine Knights just takes it all.

at 9 knights, it's alot of fun for the riders...maybe more than in joss...but joss is more for us, we are like more involved! imo

JOSS is way sicker. 9 knights is tight and it's features are great but the exposure for the riders is far less and with most of the top pros going to JOSS and not 9 Knights there really isn't a competition between the two.

A lot of it is to do with the fact that Jon is much better at marketing and getting sponsors than Nico. Not that Nico is bad at it, but Jon is the boss when it comes to getting as much money as possible for his comp. The Red Bull logo in pretty much all the JOSS urban shots?

I would love to see a collab though. JOSS format + the castle.

God no. I'm so sick of nine knights. Every year they make the same looking moderately sized jump. At least jon tries to mix it up.

okay I agree about the jump size. But the battle axe rainbow rail is amazing.

The problem is 9K has a really creative feature, with loads of different hits, but they just hit it like a normal jump. If they had people simultaneously hitting the booter and the QP, etc, and mixing it up, then it would be good.

Jon wins hands down when it comes to trickable features, I'll give you that.

you sadistic bitch how fucking dare you eveeer comapre joss to fucking 9 nights? I think i might have to make a hitler video for this, HOW FUCKING DARE YOU!

nine knights has a better name than jon olson super sesion

but JOSS def gets more covarge and i feel like its a much better vibe with us getting pumped on a new edit every day

those 2 events cannot and shouldn't be compared....and 9 knights' coverage ain't that bad at all (especially in Europe), Rage & Aestivation movie segs, Nimbus this year ...

as soon as beaming technology has progressed far enough, that would be cool. but driving from Åre to Oberstdorf is "a bit" of a ride...

Was thinking of having the event all in the same place. Plenty of snow in are to make that sweet setup for nine knights, and Jon can do what he does best. Win Win.

Are u serious?Seems u don't know too much about the event as it was planned for 2010.
Due to lack of snow they could only build one jump. original plans were to set up two different obstacles.(Nico's castle & a Tobi Reindl obstacleIf Nico would change the theme, he'd have to change the name as well... the whole concept would become contradictory.
This Castle remains one of the most beautiful skiing obstacles I've ever witnessed.

yep, im serious... and yes, i have seen the same old shit for the last 3 yrs, even redbull's playstreets (which was super sick) was taken off the menu after 3 yrs... you can be original and still use the terrain and come up with new and more exciting ideas than this... just like aestavation, a butt load of $$$ that could go to other, more creative projects, gets dumped into his ideas... retarded

Skiing is not the industry where there is a butt load of money for all these comps. everyone wants to put on. Only because Jon is filthy rich is he possible to have such a nice event.

i have watched where the money has gone over the last 10 years here in europe and believe me, these events/vids are attracting loads of money... 10 yrs ago, we had freestyle.ch, now there are over 15 different comps and shit (including euro x) my problem is that there is only so much $$$ available and the guys that are good at marketing themselves (i.e. nico) take some of that budget away from other crews trying to get shit going as well... so my point is for them to be more creative, or give other people the chance to be!!!

you really should not hate on any of these events, we dont even know how much work jon and nico put in their events !! those events get somuch good coverage in all the magazines and newspaper and this is really the best thing that could happen to our sport !

stop hating

not hating dude... just voicing my opinion. i love if someone has something that is considered negative by others, then it's called "hate"... i never said that the event was shit (that's hating) just think that there should be more diversity in the events over here in europe, and not the same shit, over and over again... and this is certainly not the "best" thing for our sport... try events like the snow park tour, spring in the park, or any events that actually either help kids, or teach them... not just the "just for pro" ones!!! all this is glamorizing the "i wanna be a pro" attitude and teaches our youth that if you are not pro, you are shit...really good for our sport, eh???

totally agree on this.
but, talking bout nico, he's doing it all:his own pro-event, filming, AND running his "youngblood camps" (http://de.youngbloodcamps.com/node/2)

true that... he does work with the youngblood camp. but i still think that more diversity is a better way, not just most of these budgets going to what nico is into... there are several crews here in europe that would kill to have what half nico works with and would put that $$$$ to better uses. my opinion...

The features on the Nine Knights castle can't be beat, but JOSS is more entertaining for the spectators.
