Nimbus' Contrast: opinions?

I haven't seen it yet and I actually haven't heard anything about it yet. Searchbarred it and everything.
So, who's seen it? And what did you think of it? I don't expect anything mind blowing, but was it like idea, where it just gets you mad stoked to ride?

I think it's really sick. Good editing, awesome soundtrack, fun, mellow vibe. The skiing is really good, too - there are some pretty banger shots and a lot of deep pow.

it was a good movie, bit slower and shorter, but great pow riding and relaxing feel to it. I definitely enjoyed EDIAS more, but only because I really love park shots, which Contrast really doesn't have.

But contrast is worth buying and watching numerous times.

I liked it. Nothing super spectacular but there was just so much pow it was ridiculous. Made me remember how it awesome it is to get face shots. Good vibe too.

segments of skiing are absolutely sick, segments of talking in between the skiing are slow and boring though.

The talking is interesting the first time you watch it but by the fifth time you just watch the segs

Amazing pow shots and awesome soundtrack, definitely one of my top 5 movies this year though not for the park rat types

Agreed on the intro, it pulls you right in. Def a good film. The movie feels like it wants to be a documentary, and I think had it gone for docu style, covering a year of skiing and their lives vs what ultimately becomes rider segments, it would have flowed awesome. Beyond that (which is just my personal opinion) it was an awesome movie, a way different pace than whats become to usual.

real stoked on nimbus getting down with rider segments. i saw contrast for the first time today and skipped past the talking segments. the talkings cool and all and i get where they're coming from but it gets to be a bit old sometimes to be honest. all in all really banger. nyman fits in perfectly as a new addition to the team.
and theres a super epic dog vs cat fight bonus feature.

it had its moments. they rambled like all hell and i watched it before EDIAS so it really wasnt lookin too hot to me.

I like it the more times you watch it the better it gets i really like blakes and peps parts and i like the short interviews before every segment the bonus dvd comes with webisodes from en route and hunting yeti its a win

yeah i actually think blake nymans was my favorite of the movie, although pep had some very cool tricks

I still, to this day, believe IDEA was one of the greatest ski movies ever made. Contrast is not exactly similar to IDEA. As far as getting you stoked to ride, it does and damn good job. many people have claimed the talking to be boring, which I agree, in most ski movies talking is boring, but if you really listen to what these guys say, you can relate, regardless of how often you ski, where you ski, how old you are, and whether you are almost pro, or just beginning. The talking alone got me stoked, it brought back so many GREAT memories of skiing, then to watch that person's segment after the interview, it just built my stoke even more. The one thing I found this movie missing was more H-Mob music. Regardless, the soundtrack in Contrast was still excellent. I love IDEA and I like Contrast a lot. Since you liked IDEA, I highly recommend Contrast, it has a pretty similar vibe to the webisodes- great skiing and a lot of fun.

^actually it isnt that much talking

however the skiing parts are definately sick and i love the soundtrack

EP skiing to Jimi Hendrix = Epic!!

this movie gets me so stoked to ride. both the talking and skiing reminds me of all the good times on the mountain. (and it reminds me of japan, aaah, want to go back there)

The soundtrack is different, but very good and matches perfect to nimbus' style. allready watched it numerous times and probably going to watch it again now.

great movie. good job guys!

Ah sick. I didn't expect it to get much hype since it is a mellower type of movie, but sounds like it'll be worth it to buy. If it even slightly resembles Idea in the make-you-want-to-ski factor then I'm buying it. I don't mind talking segs either but it's good to know that they're there.

It doesnt even seem like a ski movie. You just cant compare it to something like EDiaS. I fucking loved it, but for much much different reasons than I loved EDiaS~

i'm really dissapointed, i went to tripple threat last night, but they didn't even show Contrast, just EDIAS and Transitions. Riley Poor is the man, but i really wasn't into transitions, maybe because i'm not a big fan of Dumont. EDIAS was pretty sweet, but i'm mad they didn't show Contrast

IDEA is probably my favorite ski movie of all time. Hunting Yeti took a little time to grow on me, but even now, every time I watch it it gets better. I love Contrast already after a couple of views and firmly believe it's only going to get better. Gets me super pumped to get my skis on!
