Nikon d7100 announced

i've been debating new camera for a while. Split between Nikon/Canon due to variety of reasons. this will be my next camera

If the ISO can be cranked to 4000-6400 and you can actually manually adjust the exposure (previous models it was a hassle) I will probably buy this as a b cam (seeing as all of my lenses are nikon)

Also not too sure about 1080p60 on this camera, lots of other sites are listing 1080p60i and only 60p @720 but on the nikon release it says 60fps but who knows if this is a typo or what but id like to see a legit source for this 1080p60

Depending on the ISO performance of the new sensor, looks like the perfect camera.

It is a mistake of Nikon that they didn't announce it with some nice new glass to compete with the onslaught of excellent micro four thirds and Fuji X lenses... I guess that might come together with the D9000/D400 announcement...

if its capable of 1080ix60fps during the x2 crop, it "should" be capable of 1080px60fps. apparently nikon hasnt been very clear on this though

very interested as well. even regardless of 1080px60fps (which would really be the cherry on top) that price tag is un fucking real. i know they were just specs, but the 7dii was supposably listed for like 2200, a grand more than the d7100. canon has some serious competition on their hands with this one i think

canon doesn't give a shit about their low end HDDSLR camera ha if they though pani or nikon was actually going to threaten their market, they'd do something. Canon has built up such a rep in the dslr community that no one cares about nikon/pani even though the gh3 is by far the best HDDSLR on the market "BUT OMG WHAT ABOUT CANON L LENSES?!?" (general hddslr market response)

i know you're talking video, but this camera is such a awesome happy medium between vid/photo and thats what mostly interests me. bh refers to it as 1.5 crop on the specs, but 1.3 crop on the description. anyone able to clear this up?

it has a 1.3x DX crop mode, which works out to a 2x crop. you get 7fps in it, which is nice. a shame the buffer is so small on this camera, although that doesn't really effect me.

Canon is always worried about Nikon threatening their market... Nikon is Canon's arch nemesis... akin to ford and chevy, France and Germany, Democrats and Republicans...

They're now to the point where they are frienemies, as well... they release nearly the same exact camera onto the market at about the same exact time - ex: the D800 and the 5Diii, and more recently the D600 and the 6D.

Unless the 7Dii is really miles ahead of the D7100, the price won't be anywhere near 2200, and likely more comparable to the D7100.
