it will get the job done all the way to semi profess level....the thing is once you start getting into lenses, you have to choose either nikon or cannon....its pretty divided amoung the comunity which is better....each have their ups and downs
the biggggg kicker is the lenses you go with. If you have a d2x and a crappy lense, or a cannon f1...then you might as well be shootin with a point and shoot. Spend the extra money, you'll hear people say, invest in good glass (being lenses) you'll really see the difference
