Nikon D7000 Review

nice review jordan. it looks like a tonne of fun, but SD cards? lame kinda. what other lenses have you played around on it with?

Yeah I know... but they're dirt cheap, smaller and can hold more than a CF card eventually.... I read somewhere that CF cards will be maxed out at something like 128gigs and SD can expand much more so? Maybe I was dreaming.
I've used the 18-105 or whatever that kit lens was - it's a decent all around lens, probably come in handy for travel.
I've used the 70-200m f/2.8 VR
10.5 f/2.8 Fisheye
50 f/1.4 and f/1.8
and the 12-24mm f/4

ya its crazy, but there no 2 terabyte card yet, its just theoretical at this point but the rate at which computer power and storage space have grown in the las 5 years is insane

thanks Jordan!! i can't wait to get this camera. where did you get it though? i haven't been able to find it anywhere!

I bought mine off of craigslist because some guy ordered 2 he wanted one so badly haha.
I'd try wolf camera?

i cannot find this camera anywhere. i'd rather not buy it off of ebay or something but i can't find it anywhere else for the stock price. i tried 3 different nikon dealers in new mexico and no one had it and i haven't heard anything about it being re-stocked online or at any store any time soon.

Here's a pretty cool short video off of Chase Jarvis's blog. Rad camera. Jordan, I rock a 7D, but how do you like shooting skiing with the 50mm f/1.4?

I got mine 2 weeks ago from J&R. I just complained a ton about it being so late and got $70 gift card and moved up on the shipping list.

like 3 kits showed up on amazon thursday and i sniper one of em. so stoked. i just started checking amazon everyday and sometimes a few would show up but i ended up getting one thursday. took way too long to find it for a regular price though...

Im looking for a body only, Im not about to buy into nikons games and spend $300 on a piece of shit glass.

The 18-105? It isn't THAT bad of a lens, just not the greatest... If you're traveling a lot it does a decent job if you just want to pull your camera out and snap a photo.

Yeah that was a little harsh, especially since I've never used it. I'd definitely use it but I have its range already covered and no need for it. Im just bitter Nikon released so few body only D7000s.

for sure i feel the same way. but i couldn't find the body only so i just sent it. and it's actually a decent lens, especially like the guy a couple posts up said if you're traveling.
