12.5 fuckin megapixels thats nuts.... anybody have one or get to use one yet?

I have used one a couple of times, my dad's best friend owns a camera store and is a prof. Photographer so he let me use it. he also gave me my d70 for free

i'm looking for an Elan 7 or a nikon N80 (or any digital SLR) for cheap. see if you can get any deals for me (not expecting free, but if you have a ''hook up'' to get it below retail)

 
Is there a huge difference in quality when you see the images on your computer screen between the D70 and DX2 LineisAgg

there shouldnt be because screens cant show that kind of detail.... and the human eye wont be able to pick it up that well either. the main difference will be that you can zoom into a 12.4 megapixel picture alot more before running into pixelation or whatnot

yeah, the larger megapixel cameras are basically so that you can zoom or enlarge the picture for output. pretty much the only thing a super high megapixel camera would be useful for is like movie poster size at minimum. but, don't get me wrong, it still makes an amazing picture in smaller sizes too. i saw a side by side comparison of a 4mp and a 12 mp and there's definately a big noticable difference.

 
Of course if megapixels are the only thing you care about in a camera you can get a digital Hasselblad back with 22 MP.

people thing that you NEED a camera with high mega pixals. i know some one who made a billboard with a canon 10d(6.3mp)............

 
technically large format cameras take the equivalent of something like 100 MP +. Spy cameras on U2 that used film were about 4 gigapixls

that 100MP seem a bit high, 4x5 large format dosent seem like it would be that high, but you sure do get a tun of detale out of a 4x5....

 
canon is working on a full frame 30+mp body which i'm sure will replace the 1Ds

i mean they just came out with a new 5D with 21mp and 1080p high def. video recording.
 
That's nothin. My camera phone has 6 megapixels. Beat that shit. Btw thread is from 2005 and if you think I'm serious then you need to get out more.
