Nike into the snowsports industry

Down in vegas these past couple days and saw a wooden booth with the nike swoosh on it. Go inside and there is snowboard boots that look like really big and really high air force ones. They also had some pretty clean apparel. I asked to take some pick of the new line and the rep gave me a big no and made me leave. Does anyone know about this new line. Whats in the future for nikes in the snow business.

i dunno, these arn't the first snowboard boots they've made, they made some probably about ten years ago in their ACG line. thats weak that he made you leave the booth though after you were curtious enough to ask if you could take pictures.

they've just made their latest push to get into the snowsports industry for real. it took them 4 tries to get into skateboarding. and i think this is their 3rd try for snowboarding. their boots are coming out in 09, i think along with some outwear. they've signed some heavy hitters, like danny kass and eric jackson and others. plus their ACG outerwear line picked up sammy carlson and andreas hatviet. i'm not sure when that stuff is coming out.

Adidas has been making goggles for a while and with nike getting into snow sports maybe adidas will follow with some outwear.

that being said im not sure if i like the idea of them making snowboard boots, something screams that they will make a shitty boot to cash in. but what do i know they might be sick.

Theyve been making ski and snowboard outerwear for a good 3 years now. Maybe longer.
