So there is sammy TJ and jossi but on their website there are two 16 year olds on there that freeski. how do them get sponsored?

Kyle Smaine is the youngest and an excellent skier. there are only 4 or 5 skiers out of 37 on the team

Yeah. He is pretty sick. And im pretty sure Nike is going to like to keep its reputation as being the best of the best and only sponsor riders worthy of Red Bull.

tucker rips...pretty quiet kid & has been with 6.0 for 3 years i think??? he just won Big Air comp at Tignes Airwaves in France....sweet comp

dude nike sucks who give a shit who rides for them. they use sweat shops in china and their products suck. and since when do skiers need shoes to ski

other companies make shirts and shit..you dont need those to ski. you dont need red bull to ski. its about getting into the skiing culture so people will buy their shit and say "look at me, im a skier just like sammy carlson." its the same in rollerblading with companies making shoes and stuff because theres an image even when you dont have your skates on (or skis). yeah go ahead and hate on rollerblading. and, yes, i disagree with nike using sweat shops in china, but theyre not the only company that does that.

wrong

first of all nike is incredibly scrutinized when it comes to labor and they do everything they can to make sure the people making their stuff are taken care of relative to the labor laws that exist there. the main reason is that they do not want an international incident. secondly, china is a very industrialized when it comes to manufacturing. there are much worse conditions in other countries. third, the money that they are bringing into our sport is very much needed not to mention the exposure that our sport gets by nike advertising their team.

if skiing is ever going to approach snowboarding or even be considered in the same universe as skating, we need this sort of blue chip monetary and exposure support. that money helps sponosor athletes, put on contests, set up photoshoots, pour money into advertising, all which helps progress the athletic aspect of our sport in addition to the respect our athletes will gain.
