Night skiing Headlamp

whats everyone using or dreaming of purchasing for a dope night skiing headlamp. Looking for something preferably rechargable, under $500 and can light up the night snow so me and some homies can do some after work laps while we're working at camp.

Some research has pointed me towards a Lupine, but they get super pricey real fast.

Also any idea how many lumens is enough? Amazon has some crazy headlamps with 18,000 for so cheap but then any brand like BD and petzl only has Max 1100.

[tag=134699]@onenerdykid[/tag] recommended the Petzl Nao + to me and I couldn't be happier with it. 200$, Super bright, was perfect for nighttime tree skiing at Brighton. I also use it for bike riding cause it has a be seen red light on the back. I wouldn't pay as much attention to lumen ratings, tbh it seems like they aren't really standardized especially with the absurd numbers some companies are claiming.

I got the BD Storm 400 as a gift and I wasn't very thrilled about only 400 lumens (after having a couple other 1k lights), but I've been pleasantly surprised. As far as features go, it's the most useful headlamp I've ever used because you can choose a selection on LEDs and dial in the brightness. It stays on my helmet fine and hasn't died ridiculously fast in cold temps, also a plus for a budget light.

I have a couple of fancy surefire lights in the 1k lumen range and I'm considering getting a fast attach mount from this company called Echo Arms and seeing how that pans out. A 1k lumen handheld is significantly more worth the money to me than a headlamp. That plate also mounts with sturdy velcro, so it would be nice to take it on and off on the fly. The downside to this would be needing to take out a loan to afford CR123 batteries. I just brought it up, because I haven't seen or heard someone trying this.

Look into moonlight skis, theyre from norway and have headlamps meant for skiing and biking in the dead of the northern winter.

by far the strongest iv used.
