NICK MARTINI?? underrated?

I am wondering right now why nick dropped off the map as a skier? He is one of the top if not favorite skier of mine. He grew up skiing in my hometown and started stept there. Wheres he at, why isn't he putting out those OG edits??!!!
 
He keeps getting injured. He had some shots in Ten and Two but he has mostly been working behind the camera.

Nick martini has always been one of my biggest role models. One of the first ski movies i owned and watched over and over again was EDIAS which had one of the sickest park segments ever and nick martini's shots in edias were some of the most next level and immediately established him as one of my favorite riders. He also went to my high school for a few years.

I actually think martini is one of the most underrated skiers of our time in terms of how good a skier he was and the impact he has had on skiing. A list of his achievements...

-Winner of salomon jib academy

-in numerous poor boyz, stept, and tgr films

-established stept which imo brought urban skiing into the mainstream

- now films and edits for tgr and stept

- one of the inventors of afterbang

- best rode 5 in the game and best switch ride away

- continues to put out the best ski flic every year

I think nick is still very young, but in the long term I think we will view him as a pioneer of urban skiing and a legend of filming.
 
Terrain was gnarly.

Rocks and stones everywhere.

Snow was sh*tfuck.

We didn't have many chances to nail the shot... Only one, actually.

Then, seeing Nick storming down that chute, only meters away from

the star of that filmed segment

holding a RED on a stabilizer, was one crazy experience.

Shot nailed.

A great guy + have a ton of respect for him both as a skier and a filmer.

If he wasn't constantly injured he could have been one of the biggest skiers of this era, but the work he's doing behind the camera is unreal anyway; I think he's comfortable where he is and probably won't make a comeback. He was way ahead of his time though
 
Stept is no longer making movies only working for contracted companies so it's gonna be a surprise to see what his next big break will be
 
I actually did a school project on nick for people who inspire me. I emailed stept who gave me all the info about nick. As far as him being out goes, nick has been hurt too many times and has focused on continuing to ski just enough to maintain sponsors however hes focused his efforts on the filmmaking side of skiing due to injuries and wont be returning to urban skiing anytime in the foreseeable future.

As far as being underated goes. Nick is easily the lost underrated skier and filmmaker in skiing. He won jib academy, filmed with pbp for multiple seasons. Started stept. Creates stept films to this day which are arguable some of the best ski films out there. During alot of this time he was also competing and getting top ten finishes in alot of the dew tour and xgames. The guys a straight beast and people dont appreciate all hes done as much as they should.
