Nick Jonas is dead.

You are talking to a kid that played piano and took piano lessons from a college department head for 13 years. And also played 4 instruments for the high school band and was asked by high end drum corps to try out but didn't because I couldn't afford it. So yes, I know stuff about music in general, stop making assumptions.

^holy frick i stand corrected. that was dope.

but still. i know for a fact that you have never heard of kevin jonas, but believe me, his kids have talent.

I have to agree with the guys saying that they have talent. Just because they perform for 12 year olds doesn't mean they suck, they're loaded with talent.
And before you go all you don't know what talent is on me, Mr Panda, I've played the oboe since 2nd grade, I am now an orchestra soloist at a performing arts high school (audition to get in). And what you showed in those videos, thats like low end if you ask and piano major at my school.
-Mike Jones

If it is low end tell me why my teacher told me none of her college students could play the Bach piece?

And the Oboe is fucking hard to play so props.

definitely.

at mike jones- the thing about music is there is always someone more talented than you. it's impossible to come even close to mastering every facet of a single instrument.

though "piano majors" at your school are better, panda still has talent. you can't argue with that.

i find it so hard to hate any type of music.

I can't listen to country. something about it annoys the frick out of me. but i can't deny that brad paisley or dolly parton have talent.

Lady Gaga. can't freaking stand her songs, but holy balls she has a killlller voice.

New country to me is Rock with an acoustic guitar instead. It no longer is really country.

Then what do people think of guys like Flo Rida, Tpain, and the other autotuners.... they have to have SOME talent in order to be picked up for record deals.

to bad they're gay, i dont care if they're musically talented, all of their fans are 10 year olds and faggots like you.

how many jonas brothers posters do you have?

contempory country? alt country?

whatever it's called. it doesn't do it for me.

hip hop is a bit of an exception. it's been going down hill. he may be able to keep a beat, but compared to biggie, tupac, even fricking asher roth, it's hard for me to see any talent in "soulja boy"

my take on auto tune is kind of unique, you guys will probably disagree. I kind of view it like over driving a guitar. t-pain is using a talent he has to reach a sound that you can't get without a little distortion. It might not sound as cool without the antares, but eddie van halen couldn't have hit half those notes without a marshall behind him. if any guitarists disagree with my, go try to shred on an un-comped clean tone. Now a dude like django or methany can play that fast without relying on over drive to clear out the rough spots. IMHO that makes them more talented than eddie.

Does that mean van halen isn't talented?

not at all. There are people out there better than him, but EVH is using his skill to create a sound that requires a little extra.

Fred hammond could make t-pain cry, but that doesn't mean T doesn't have talent.

you're not proving anything panda. I could tell everyone on here that I have flown a spaceship, doesnt make it true.
I want to see a video of you playing those songs

Fuck, now I have to find it and then convert from old school analog video to digital and upload it. Fuck you Dan.

Im sorry, but you cant just cant compare the auto tune to overdrive. You also say if any guitarists disagree with you, go try and shred on an un-comped clean tone. I won a scholarship and an outstanding jazz soloist award with an un-compressed clean tone. Compressed, overdrive tone was definitely what gave EVH his "brownsound" crunch tone, but I guarantee he could shred clean in a different way, but with just as much talent as Django and Pat.
for thread, somebody should kill the Jonas brothers and get it over with.

since you play jazz, you should know that its a lot harder to hit clear quick notes on an un-compressed clean tone than it is with a snarling 5150 behind you... same as with sweeps. it's a ton easier to mask imperfections when your tone is dripping with gain.

it was a pretty bad analogy, now that i think about it, but it kind of makes sense to me?

I see what your saying with the analogy, I just think its unfair to judge guitarists' skill by the amount of gain they use. Eddie didn't use distortion to mask his flaws, but to pronounce his strengths. the auto tune does the opposite by hitting the correct notes for the artist since they can't do it themselves, ie masking their flaws.

there are some crazy rumors popping up these days, asher roth is gay, nick jonas is dead, whats next? Kanye's a gay fish

They may have talent, but they are still fucking gays who's majority of audience are pre-pubescent girls or other flaming homosexuals not unlike themselves.
