In an effort to get to the roots this summer salomon organized a low key camp with all is grom level riders and some pros. the riders will be taking on way more roles in the development of products. the camp was awesome.

 
I'm sure you don't work for Salomon or anything. Face it, if you really believe that Salomon cares about freeskiing, you're also likely to believe the CEO of Pepsi when he says "Our global food-service enterprise is totally down for your awesome subculture, Dude."

 
i don't work for salomon, nor do they sponsor our films. i do, however, know that the camp was set up to get feedback from the majority of their riders concerning freeriding.

some of the themes ranged from websites to contest importance to film importance to product +/-. this company does take a strong interest in their riders ideas/opinions. i know this from working with Sammy, Tommy, Seth, and Jamie.

salomon employees are humans too. the general theme on many of ns resonses is to bash the one's who have succeeded financially and to praise the underdogs struggling to make a buck.

one more thing, salomon supports war in huge ways. they do care look at what they do not and don't sprint to the ever so present synical themes.

good points i think people mainly bash salomon because well they're products don't change i'm refering to how the 1080's have stayed foam forever and will stay foam into the future and not many people like foam i bought my skis not knowing any better

U r stupid... salomon from what i have seen is the most core company out there... they sponsor pbp movies making them possible, and they give so much money to comps ect, making them possible.. they put alot of money into everything.. wsi wouldnt happen if salomon wasnt sponsoring it.. they have alot of money so its naturaul for them to put the most into the sport..

hahah my opinion of salomon got really messed up by just being on this site. i used to think they were all just little poopers. but after purchasing some skis and talking to some homies it seems without them skiing would def not be where it is now. and they are helping with all the upcoming skiers and helping out many others. the end

lol, yeah guys, some people need to stop bitchin against big ski companies... theyre the one investing the more money in movies, comps, athletes, etc... they do care for the newschool movement, as much as for big mountain skis or race skiing, cuz, after all, theyre job is based on the sport of skiing!

i even work for a different company and there is absolutely no denying that salomon is the founder of freeskiing. they made the first twin, it was some of their riders that started the steps toward what we are today, anyone who is putting forth money and time into freeskiing is helping too. stop being so revolved around new companies and remember the roots, sure the new ones are cool and i have every bit of respect for them, even as much as the big guys for taking the sacrifice and risk to start the company but seriously, get out of your "cool company" phase.

they were considered the first twin on the market, but line made thier full lenght skis the same year.

also, K2 made a ski called the "poacher" that was a twin tip, but it never went on the market. I have a pair of them in my garage. pretty badass.

 
move on. all the companies need to follow what's going on all over the mtn. Salomon is doing what they can, while losing money.

 
However, their merger with Adidas and then Rebock has given them a little less credibility in my mind. If Ninthward merged with Nike would you be happy?

As of September when the sale of Salomon is finalized Salomon will have no affiliation with adidas anymore, and the Reebok/Adidas merger has absolutely nothing to do with Salomon. At the end of the day this all has nothing to do with the fact that Salomon is a freeride brand. Look at TenEighty & Scream Series, these are skis that revolutionized the world of skiing. Stop hating as without Salomon you would still be in ski school skiing gates.

I beleive they are changin it to a hybrid this year the iso cell or w/e im interested to see how it works out so far all reviews are positive but nuthin on long lasting durability yet!
