well the deadline has come and gone. who do you think has the best chance at the cup after today? in the west, i think the canucks are sitting pretty once they get healthy. also, detroit and nashville. the rangers and philly are my picks in the east.

canucks picked up keith carney, sean brown and eric weinrich for virtually nothing. when ohlund, salo and jovonoski get healthy they will have one of, if not the best, defences in the league. and they got mika noronen from buffalo to back up auld. huge day for them.

ottawa picked traded bochenski for arnason. not sure about that. and got morrison off waivers

edmonton picked up samsonov

rangers got ozolinsh

carolina got recchi

nashville got witt

 
Rangers, Carolina, Edmonton and V-town all made big improvements. Detroit is still my favourite to win. Canucks need to be healthy to challenge.

well as a Bruins fan it's kind of sad to see Thorton and Samsonov get traded. These two were the faces of the franchise since 1998 when they were drafted, but whatever I was skeptical when they traded Thorton but in the end it wasn't a bad deal
 
When the canucks are healthy, we will have one of the deepest blue lines. When Clouts is healthy we will have 3 bonified goalies. I like how it looks. Now we just need to score. I was surprised at Calgary's lack of movement. Edmonton made the best deals I thought.
 
being a Bruins fan sucks. i thought we were gonna have a good season. oh well. and it helps none that my best friend is a flyers fan

The Theo trade will be interesting to monitor, as for the best trades it seems Vancouver and Edmonton loaded up nicely. I still think teams like Detroit, Carolina, etc will have good playoff runs, it might just be a little tighter now though.
 
I have to say I'm sketchy about the whole Theo trade, I mean, he's been off but he is rad, hopefully Aebischer works out for my Habs. To however it was who said the 'Nucks will have 3 great goalies when Clouts is back... Clouts is garbage and hopefully won't be back
