its time for a candian team. its either gonna be montreal or ottawa. leafs might have a shot...

If Colorado gets a good goalie, and have a good chemistry before the playoffs, how could you not fear them. As much talent as they have though, they lose a lot of chemistry because this is the first full year with a new coach. So much talent, but Minnesota proved to them that a good system is what it's all about.

On that note, Bob Hartely's first full season with Heatly, Kovalchuk and a good young team- and a healthy Dafoe- will take the Thrashers to finish 6th in the east and their first ever playoff birth. They'll be fun to watch till they lose in the second round.

I think the Rangers are finally fed up of not making the playoffs. See them in and out in the first round.

With new teams making the playoffs, there will be no room in the post season for the over-rated, aging Laughs. Their fans will still claim they're the best team and claim they were cheated out of the playoffs, because everyone knows that the NHL (and the rest of the world) is againt them.

Back into the West, Detroit has a lot of redeeming to do. Unfortunately (for hockeytown), they'll finish second to Ottawa in the race to the Presidents Trophy and Ottawa will finally solve Hasek in a satisfing 5 game final.

as well, there really is no contest. ottawa will take it for sure this year. the best thing to come out off the west will likely be colorado, because they will simply outscore their opponents, but if there was any team that could stop a high powered offense, its ottawa. lalime will have a vezina quality season this year, and the ottawa d will be as strong as ever. and hossa will be their offensive superstar, and along with havlat, alfredsson, spezza, and fisher, ottawa's offense will be a force to be reckoned with.

bottom line is ottawa takes the presidents trophy, and the stanley cup.

Holy fuck. I've been living in the books for the past couple of days. Damn that does suck for Heatly and Atlanta. Still, if they off to a good start in the season, I can see them at least challenging for a playoff spot.

I so excited about Ottawa's chances this year though. I can't wait for the season to start. More than that, I can't wait for the playoffs to start.

two words WINGS = CUP, although I ahve to agree with Jay Ottawa looks damn good and will give the wings fits. I like Hasek at goal in the playoffs though.

Colorado will be 1st overall in regular season. And Edmonton will win the cup.

I really dont watch hockey all that much but you have to have a favorite team so Colorado Avs are going all the way.

I think ottawa is gonna beat philly in the semis and then play the avs just cuz their offence is so damn good, but in the end ottawa is gonna take it all
