NHL Playoff Predictions!

Calgary is going all the way to the cup. For those of you interested in a good party, come on over to calgary for any home games during the playoffs. The red mile is going to be lit up. Fuck the increased police presence, 17th is going to be out of control. Even our mayor says, dont let the police intimidate you, its your city, you deserve to party how you want.
 
Okay, since everybody here is a hockey fan, im gonna do a little hijack move, please continue to talk about the NHL playoffs, but treat this as an advertisement. West:

Turco's poor performance has more to do with the fact that he doesnt get much rst in the regular season. They always have a far inferior back-up and constantly need to play him(Tugnutt and Hedberg in recent memories). I think he's gonna break out this post-season. Unless Theo or Budaj will hold the fort, Colorado will be humiliated. They are just not the same team that once dominated the entire league. One final note:Colorado is much better at home, dallas is better on road.

Dallas sweep

I dont think Calgary and Anaheim will be that close in my personal opinion. Anaheim peaked too early, they are starting to decline. Also, very little veteran leadership on Ducks defence means that they pbly wont go too far.

Detroit vs Edmonton

This one I dont know about too much. I am so tempted to pick Edmonton for the upset, especially if Datsyuk reamins injured. Roloson has the skill, and so does the entire team. I am also a strong believer that Detroit will lose in either the 1st or last round of the playoffs. Still there is too good a mix of veterans and new blood in Detroit. They have 4 sure-fire hall-of-famers.

Detroit in 6.

Toskala or Nabokov. Will Thornton finally have a good post season? I still dont think San Jose has the leadership to fully take them to the finals. But Nashville has been in a much easier division, I think San Jose is better than nashville. Its as simple as that. Chris Mason is a big wild card, and whether steve sullivan will come back or not remains to be seen.

if they can keep thier momnetum into the playoffs i think they could make a serios run. of all they teams in the playoffs they probably have the most seasoned and reliable goaltender.

EVERYONE is calling a habs upset, it's like a trend or something... if Carolina sweeps them you all owe me a fucking beer.

Anyway, three developments tonight: Paul Kariya figuring in MUCH more heavily than anyone anticipated, leading his team; 2 overtimes for Detroit might still have them tired on Sunday... but probably not, they're big on fitness and Maltby barely looked like he'd broken a sweat post game, Yzerman's legs were going but he was still playing hard (not surprising, if he can walk, he'll play); and finally, Ilya Bryzgalov might force me to change my upset prediction in the flames/ducks series... He doesn't look terrible, but nor does he look anywhere near as confident as Mika.
 
If the Dominator comes back to Ottawa then it will be Ottawa in the final with Ottawa taking it against Calgery. If not then i believe the Canadians will go all the way against Calgery in the final.

new jersey is scary, that powerplay is so good. New york, what a joke. It would be nice for the sens if new york got rid of some NJ players before the series ended.
 
with jagr maybe injured and the blow out this aft., I bet new york fans wont be saying their team.
 
It was closer than it looked... until the early goal in the third it could've gone either way. But Brodeur is amazing.

Turco, meanwhile, gives up the emotion-killing tying goal on a brain cramp from behind his own net, along with four others. The Avalanche look like... the Avalanche, actually. Whoever comes out of the first round in any of the west series, it'll be tough goin in the second round.

haha everyone hates the leafs, but the funny thing is torontonians dont hate anyone. plus NHL hockey is pretty played out

dallas came out looking pretty good, but shit the bed after colorado got one. theyre not going to win very many games if they cant get more than 20 shots.

six points from elias did wonders for my pool.
