NHL 2010/2011 Thread?

3rd and 4th lines are good. Bogosian is a bit overrated but is a legit anchor to build a defense around and 1-6 is solid if not great. Mason is good enough. Bottom 6 forwards should be dependable though there are a couple of plugs (Thorburn). Here's the thing that's bugging me though...

THAT IS THE SINGLE WORST #1 LINE I HAVE EVER, IN MY ENTIRE LIFE, SEEN ANYONE ACTUALLY BRAG ABOUT

Seriously if you're taking that shit out of training camp, that has to contend for worst top line in the NHL.

haha. true story. we don't have one. but next year we will. guaranteed.

fuck i'm pumped for the new season.

40 goals isnt enough for what they're getting paid theyre at 13million for both of them... and we lost our captain sooo... koivu had been sucking since at least 3 years.. kovalev was shit on 4 games out of 5 and higgins was becoming useless.. we didnt lose much from these players

Haha just FYI, Gomez and Gionta combined were outscored by Henrik and they make more than double his salary. They should have 55 goals and 125 pts between them at least.

Not sure if anyone subscribes, or if it was already mentioned for that matter, but The Hockey News picked the Canucks to win the cup.

I really don't see any one team that is a heavy favourite to win at this point. I don't think the Canucks will do it though. THN was citing they're new acquisitions on defence as one of the reasons they picked the canucks #1 but I don't see Keith Ballard carrying any team. and I really don't trust Luongo come playoff time, he's overrated. Boston's looking strong this year and Washington is obviously going to be a force, but hopefully they'll have some more competition in the Southeast this year. I'm also preparing mentally for another miracle Habs run.

Haha also FYI, its also Gomez and Gionta's first year playing for Montreal, and montreal is the harshest city on their players, fans are ruthless, it may take some getting use to. I dont know if you go to their games alot, but i go to see a game in mtl once a year, and im from CT..

speaking of the boston bruins....someone find me a nathan horton player t shirt for sale. absolutely cannot find it. Going to their pro shop tomorrow

That is gonna be so wrong, both conferences especially the East are alot more balanced now

Leafs, and Montréal will make the playoffs.
Regardless of whether or not my predictions are right. This is most certainly terribly inaccurate.

Montreal may make it, i can see them knocking out either Ottawa or Tampa Bay,

but i can gurantee the leafs will not make it. and bet money on it. There are too many good teams in the east and Toronto has not gotten any better since last year

Obviously Ballard is not gonna carry the team. He's not supposed to. The reason Vancouver will do so well this year is their depth.

They have no superstar on defence but are solid all the way through.

Ballard-Edler

Hamuis-Bieksa

Ehrhoff-O'Brien

Salo (injured)

And up front they have amazing depth as well as superstars

Sedin-Sedin-Samuelson

Raymond-Kesler-Hodgson

Torres-Maholtra-Schoreder

Oreskovich-Bolduc-Hansen

Burrows (injured)

they actually so many options for their bottom 6 it will all depend on who performs at camp

i seem to recall the leafs having one of the best records in the second have of the season. playing with the same players they have this year, plus improvements. toronto will make the post season. i will bet money on it.

biiiiitch.

? they had one of the best second halfs but yet couldn't move out of 15th place in the division? i dont know their entire second half record but they finished the season 4-4-2, which is not good.

When Burke originally went to Toronto i called he would not help them. He has done nothing in the past except bring in the 1 good player.

ie. Vancouver he got the twins but completley dismanted the farm which is why its taken years for us to finally become a contender after burke pulled that off.

With Anaheim the team was already in place, all he did was bring in Pronger.

Just looking at the roster for the laughs i laugh, they have 1 good player, Kessel, who they overpaid for and are overpaying. If they were smart they wouldve traded Kaberle for Savard so Kessel actually has someone to set him up. Plus Savard is good and one of the most underrated playmakers.

The rest of their forward core is made up of a couple second liners and mostly third line grinders.

And their defence is so overrated, most of them can't skate and are so slow they just put their team shorthanded all the time. and once you get around them who do u have to beat?

an overpaid over the hill Giguere or the hyped beyond all belief "Monster" who has yet to prove anything.

teams that are better then the leafs: Washington, Pitt, Buffalo, New Jersey, Boston, Philly, Ottawa, Montreal, Tampa, New York.

who do you realistically seeing them beating out of those?

And you say you have got better, maybe a little with the addition of veersteeg and armstrong but so did everyother team.

Stevie-Y has done wonders for Tampa and Atlanta is looking much better and the Islanders prospects will have a better season.

the leafs are already done, and the season hasn't even started
