NFL Might Not Exist

So I heard that the NFL wont happen next year. They say that the players are demanding more money and it looks like they aren't going to get it. Similar to The NHL a few years back. If they're on strike I hope its only for a year. Somebody please tell me this is not true i have no idea what i am going to do without football next year.

NFL players want better postcareer healthcare. More money. NOT raising the amount of regular season games played to 18.

Nothing really ridiculous. I mean 18 games is actually a fucking marathon and so difficult to do. Superbowl would be the least hurt teams, not the best ones.

In some instances they don't care, but they you get assdicks who KNOW they can milk the teams for all they're worth(Darrele Revis) and don't give a shit if they don't play football. Money is the foremost concern for them, not the love of the game.

Also ticket prices and season tickets are being raised so the fans are going on strike. Some stadiums even require a shit bunch of money just for reserving your season ticket seats for the upcoming season.

college football>>>>>>NFL anyways, Im just wondering if they would still hold a draft or if all this years players would get SCREWED

They should move the fucking pro bowl after the super duper bowl if they do anything to the schedule. It might actually make it good, but then again, it probably won't.

18 games. thats it? these guys make fucking millions every year to play 18 games a season? and these games only have an average of 10-15 minutes of actual playing time each game. and the shortest playoff run ever on top of that. lest compare that too another professional sport. NHL players play 82 regular season games. and have the longest playoff run in sports having to win 4 games every playoff series to advance. football is a fucking joke, and so are the pathetic excuses for players if they think 18 games is too much.

It's 20 currently including pre-season excluding post season.

You obviously have no idea the physicality of NFL football if you think they should play more games.

There are players that are tainting it. Owners are stingy, but not nearly as bad as people believe. They gave Revis SOOO much goddamn money, for what? being a great cornerback? I think there should be a LOT more benefits for players then there currently is. The pension is a huge one, some of the old-time greats get like 200 bucks a month for sacrificing their bodies for 5+ seasons. That's fucked up.

Goodell as much as he's been a pussy with the helmet to helmet stuff, will get it sorted out. Everything'll turn out fine methinks.

I think calling any sport at that level pathetic is an idiotic thing to do. They're professional athletes, meaning they are the BEST in the world at what they do.

If you really want to start calling sports pathetic, hockey is. They do a 150 lb bench press test at the combine, and most players get 10-12. THAT'S fucking pathetic.

your whole rationale was based off how many games they play. baseball players have a 162 game season.not to mention the 7 game MINIMUM to get into the world series, where they have another 4 game MINIMUM to win

didnt know you'd get so butthurt about a bunch of fat fucks who's only talent is running in a straight line for 10 seconds.

Didn't realize you'd get so butthurt about me calling out a bunch of talentless quasi-athletes who's only achievement in life is playing in a gigantic clusterfuck of failure and postpubescent rage.

all you middle schoolers really need to keep the sports debate out of this thread, you guys are fucking pathetic

Yeah. Love that goodel talks about how important player safety is, and then brings up an 18 game season which is the opposite of safe. Maybe if they dropped a few preseason games, and added as second bye.

Gooddell isn't a crazy dude though. He's not entirely unreasonable. He said he's perfectly fine with keeping the current scheme, if it means there won't be a lockout.

...

I would have to say Hockey is an intense sport. Are you going to go sliding across ice, with no face mask, 90mph slap shots, and the chance of getting your lights knocked the fuck out?

yeah. i think they will get their stuff sorted out, but its gonna come down to the wire. id guess june-ish. sucks for draft picks who have no idea whats going on.

but itll be great for the NBA, theyll pick up some viewers.

however its gonna make that gap between end of baseball and beginning of basketball realllllly boring hahaha
