Has anyone ever been to one of the comps? what are those kids pullin off? i've been hearin some mad stuff is being thrown in those comps.
 
the finals are sick. my bros been in it for the past 2 years. thers two types of kids the ones that make it in becuase they are 10 years old and the judges love them and then there are the real skiers. theres usually like 20 kids under 14 that are throwin cork 7s and shit
 
the one at bristol was weak... i think someone might have done a three.. the money booter in the slopestyle was a six ft table...
 
depends where your at. i did one that was racing moguls and halfpipe. no1 was really doing anything. like i said, depends where you're at because the kids are better in some places than others. but i've seen some crazy stuff at the finals
 
I'm impressed with the presence of talent at teh Keystone, CO event. Some pretty awesome kids out there-- cork 7's, switch take offs/landings. and what's truely cool is that they are judged on their attitude also.
 
YEah... at my hill myself and a few friends were the judges. They just played around in the little park for like an hour, and we watched, and tought them some stuff. it was neat, then we chose who got to go to Keystone. it was Christopher Laker. i think he did pretty good there last year. He's so badass. tossed a 10 at Keystone i think does cork 9's and stupid stuff on rails and hes like 13 or something.
 
its gay this kid I know went 2 inches out of the pipe, threw a 3 in the slopestyle, he's 14 and still managed to make it on the top 25. so the judging at keystone is a bit sketch gnar
 
my friend was in it last year and he was the only one that did a ten in the big air and he landed a little sketchy and he got second place under some kid that did a pretty sweet 9 and that kid that got first was allcocky n shit about it

it was pretty cool though
 
yah but what do you all think you'd have to pull to place? like shitty 9s or nice 5s or some crazy gap thats never been done before.

and what about rails.
 
^ Why not just go ski and have fun. Its all free, and paid for. So if there is a contest at your hill, enter it, win it, go to Keystone for free, and have fun.

I remember last years big air. Some 10 yearold threw down a massive cosack while Duncan Adams threw cork blunt 7's and another kid threw down a sketchy 9.
 
im 13, and i was thinking about entering, but i didnt wanna make a fool of myself, if i can only do 3's i dont think im good enough, should i at least try it?
 
well, i know ill qualify, but i dont want everyone in the whole nation to think i suck and laugh at me because i got like last place in the comp
 
^ Dude, no one's going to laugh at you. The comp. is nothing serious, it's about going out and having fun.
 
i went to the finals last year, kinda lame, not very many good kids and the judges are so gay. the whole comp had a really fruity vibe cuz it was all about like havin a good attitude and shit. the big air was sick, but they ended up not counting my points cuz i didnt really qualify or some shit, and so i flew there for fuckin forrunning even when i was told i was in. overall a kinda lame comp with a really lame vibe.
 
Yeah of course you still can. The pipe is just a part of the comp. A lot of kids that I saw at the finals on t.v. would just barely air out, that was it.
 
If anyone was wondering, the NextSNow Superqualifier at Okemo tomorrow will be held at the Sobe Superpipe and the Dew ZOne Slopestyle course. It should be a great time. This competition is not hardcore competitive and is all about having a good time. Hope to see some of you younger kids there.
 
attitash's is sunday and the judging is usually pretty shitty and they make u do other stupid stuff besides ski like write an essay or design a ski so unless ur pretty sure u've got a good chance to win don't waste ur time but if u do win u get a sweet trip
 
ok heres what you need to do in Keystone. ive had two of my friends go and make it to the team. First you need to be decent like be able to throw a 7 or do switch 5's and shit. 2nd the judges love when you have a good atitude. my friend last year landed a little sketchy on his 7 so he didnt have enough speed for the next hit but he did a little butter 3 of the knuckle of the the jump and the judges like thought it was amazing. as far as rails go you just pretty much need to be able to slide them and maybe 270 off. but if you really throw down you can blow up. my other friend made it to the actual team last year and got sponsered by nike and rossignol. it is a little weird tho because a racer did like a twister spread twister off the big air last year and placed 3rd. but its certainly a great opputunity
 
hood meadows this sunday, hopefully the park is decent, past weekend the jumps were only like 10-15ft but tech rails
