Next years JP Julien vs. Bibby Pro model

I think the JJ will be more versatile than the ARG atleast though, I mean, JP wasn't looking like they were too hard to use on ICE at playstreets, wheras you can always tell when someone is skiing on the ARG when they are on ice, no matter who they are.

i did.

dont hate on the whole of a companies products for a small sampling of skis that go wrong.

Every company has some shit.

Maybe you should read the whole thread... practice what you preach bra.

also for the threadee... both would be sick choices.

Both are skis from pros who probably know something about how to make jibbing in deeper snow nice n smoooooth.

Hey man, I don't want to start another something here. Of course prototypes are nothing like what the final product is like. Just chill out okay. I admitted I was wrong, what else do you want from me?

easy bud, the internet isnt gonna slap you or anything.

haha, there really isnt a bad ski out there right now... and for the price, moment is on the top for me.

just puttin it out there.

Thanks heres the page for anyone interested

The dimensions are 126-136-115-133-121

Didnt even think about that, good call theyre in the same group and look like a fun ski. All of next years line ups just look sick, im excited.

everyone is jumping on the fat, rockered jib ski bandwagon. anyone think that midfat is now like 90-100 mms underfoot, instead of the 80s it was like, last year? with the huge growth in the 120-140 underfoot ski group, 100 seems narrow

I'd ratehr be alone doing my own stuff and having fun then jumping on somethign that dosnt turn me on.

not sex oriented if you were wondering :)

80's was skinny this year, and last. 90ish has been considered midfat for a few years. I think next year around 95-103 will be considered midfat. I love it!

i'm in the same boat VTjibber, i'm headed out to Alta next season and am having a great time trying to decide which fucking AWESOME ski i want to buy. i've got the nordy enforcers (98 underfoot) right now, so they're my "mid"fat all conditions pair.

i've been trying to decide between:

- 4frnt EHP - My thoughts: is the tail rocker in the 186 going to be enough for switch? they specifically say that they're pin-tailed slightly for more tail sink for mach-ing, so that makes me wonder. other than that, i've heard so much good stuff about them it's ridiculous.

- Moment Bibby Pros - Have a buddy on this year's Melees, and he loves them. they are floppy as fuck, but he has a good time riding alta storms with them. i was excited when he told me that the bibby's are basically stiffer melee's, same size.

- JP/Juliens - I hadn't even thought about these, but they sound fucking awesome. maybe from what I'm hearing from this thread they're a little too pow-specific? I'll be doing some BC, but I want something with some versatility. I think some more feedback would help with this one.

- Praxis - Another buddy has the 185's and FUCKING LOVES THEM. Rev camber/sidecut, rode them for 2 weeks straight in Alta in december. This tells me that JP/Juliens could be a good choice because really the differences we're arguing about here are tiny as hell, and you'll be able to ride any ski after a few days of getting used to it.

---> Praxis is also coming out with 4 new skis, each of which seems very interesting, and given their bomber construction are viable options: praxis page

- K2 Hellbents - Let's be honest with ourselves here - most of us got boners watching IDEA, and they make the Hellbents look fucking awesome. Serious floppy issues, but a jibber's best weapon. Switch in pow like crazy, soft flex for tasty butters, wide for super float... another serious competitor for my $$$.

There's too many fucking skis out there right now, I'm having a shtload of trouble/fun trying to decide which is going to be best for Alta / cliffs / deep snow / all-mtn jibbing / SWITCH IN POW / Backcountry schralping / crud blasting. Any thoughts will help. I think ultimately whatever ski choices we make, there's a ton of awesome options out there right now.

and nice recovery 123ski, don't worry about the hate. they just haven't read the whole thread like beaters.

gaaaaaaaaaaaah. nice post hazel. fuck i think my list goes something like

praxis pow rx recurve

praxis all mountain recurve

4frnt ehp

but now that i think about it i'm really considering getting a floppy playful ski and then waiting until midwinter to buy a "normal" ski for everyday....

i think 189 hellbents mounted center could be super fun....

but so could the bibbys and dgjkahgjlkafhgfaks

quiver next year....

praxis pow 185

4frnt msp 180 (1 edge intact)

atomic pow plus

?armada ants?

?

dudes... bibbys are amazing...

I skied down the gnarly terrain (sarcasm) of vallée du aprkand had a shit loaad of fun.

In facts I was skiing around with my gf and I ont remember having that much fun on groomers since I bought a pair of 9 s the first year theycame out.

Anyway, they can hold and eddge on packed snow that is forsure, they can get you iverted out of a butter if you push them hard enought, they are uber turny for pow-crud tree skiing, float a lot in untouched snow, even with no sped or close to.

And, tehy can handle park jumps abuse and handle bumps prettywell. I sure woudnt do the last 2 for a wholeday but I might use tehm for a big air conest today to see peoples reaction.

these are sounding more and more like what i want....how stiff are they ced? could you see yourself skiing them "everyday" (out west, and not like super icy/hard conditions)?

ced would you mind doing a "formal" review (tgr style) of the bibby's after you've skied them in alot of snow conditions at some point? i'm super interested in the ski right now and am jonesing for more info...

nice no-link post timo, haha. THESE SKIS SOUND FUCKING SICK. I think it might come down to these and something like Hellbents, and you (ced) and our buddy are definitely going to be pushing these hard. A formal review would be super sick.

Formal review would be sick but wat uv already said is real helpful thanks ced, im leanin more an more towards the bibbys

gnarly 4FRNT EHP review HERE

article the beater timmayoski mentions: THE 2008 ROCKERED SKI BIBLE

--> Props to Timo on this thread, serious amounts of good information here, definitely check it out. Timo loves rockered skis, as we all should.

here you go depierre? happy? sonbiiiitch. heres my #1 you guys should think about it...medium flex in the middle, tip/tails have soft flex for butters. 134-109.5-129 are the dimensions. i'm sure 5% of you have heard of the company, but go over on tgr and search praxis, try to find 1 review complaiing about the quality, i dare you...i personally have landed on so many fuckign rocks on ym praxis (powders, reverse camber, reverse sidecut), and been so scared to look at my bases, only to find a barely visible scratch....a ~15 ft cliff was supposed to be a single stager, turned into a double stager, with a huge pointy rock as the "first" stage, small ptexable scratch...unbelievable.

handmade skis (tested for several years) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>factory skis.

think about it.

other praxis skis here

i know i sound like i work for the company or something, but i just love my skis so effing much

I haven't skied either skis, but I did witness a bibby break. The fks heelpiece tore out on a switch landing and broke the ski. Er, cracked I guess. But same difference, it was un rideable afterwards.
