so im here playing rounds of gnarshmallow and listening to some music and i look over my shoulder and my little brother is watching Disney "xd" and their showing Simon, and other snowboard pros talk about sportsmanship and stuff in skiing and snowboarding, to like 10 year old kids. and where ever there is a logo like on everyone's crowbars they cover it up. Then they show one kid who does like 270 on and front switch up then blind switch up 270 out on a box. and then like in a voice over it says 270 on double "change up" 270 off. I was like gawd they are worse than ESPN, the announcers on ESPN actually make me laugh like " THE DOWN PAYMENT" this was just stupid. and the kid was pretty good for being like 10 he did a rodeo and some stuff. but really if you get a chance check this out and take couple face palms
 
sorry i should clarify. not the dumont on disney half. this kids post half.

think about it. kids on disney will see dumont and people skiing, think its rad and go out and pour money into our sport. money that will help to develop new products, and drive down costs. not to mention a whole new generation of young rippers.

who really cares if they called it a change up or a switch up (both are used ALL the time anyway) who cares that they blocked out the oakley logo on his goggles. the point is they are exposing skiing to a new audience, and thats pretty sick if you ask me.
 
im really fealling what your saying, just when i first saw it i was like really? and made a thread about it, i only focused on all the sound affects and stuff and Simon on disney. not really the aspect of them supporting skiing to another audience, so i fail my self

... why is it bad for Simon Dumont and said little kid to bring more popularity or at least awareness about what we do?I understand that you're so UG and hate all those poser sell outs but lets be real. Skiing = desperately in need of money. Disney = huge audiences and lots and lots of money. Put them together and everyone's happy.

-I thought I was cool and would hate on something random that no one cares about, but then I realized that ESPN announcers like Mike Douglas know way more about skiing that me and that I should suck some E-cock to save my karma.
 
Who cares? That's not a "major fail", and everyone who even noticed that knew that it was an honest mistake. It's not like Mike Douglas is sitting up there trying to make the sport he invented look gay.
 
sorry, id just like to see the biggest event of the season for our sport and basically the only outside of the community representation our sport gets be a little bit more knowledgeable and present our sport better than the xgames does.
thats all. not a BIG deal to me, just saying xgames is big and it'd be nice if the announcers could be a little more educated in the sport, thats all
 
yes, i do know who mike douglas is. was he announcing or something? if not i don't really see his relevance to this

sorry i dont keep tabs on the announcers. i didn't even actually watch the xgames cause i was actually out skiing myself.
all i saw was the youtube videos of some of the runs, therefore i wouldn't know who the announcer was. all i know is he called a rodeo 9 and 1080. which i understand now is just a simple mistake by Mike Douglas, however, i didn't know it was mike douglas before and just thought it was some random guy that knew nothing about freestyle skiing.

i think Ben. is one of the smartest members on ns. i agree with him in this argument
