Next Season Purchases

So far, for this season I have:

Armada ARV 175

Diamir Fritschi Ti-3 bindings

I'll mainly be using these skis for touring because of the touring binding and the mountain position.

Line 1260 164

Salomon s810 CP bindings

I've had these for two years now and the only thing I'll be using them for will be skiing at home, so... backyard jibbing and for the gravel pit and stuff.

Looking at buying:

Line Mike Nick Pro 178

Some Bindings (maybe LINE)

I want these skis to use for all lift-accessed terrain, so, bumps, park, bowls, groomers, and for short hikes to backcountry kickers and drops and stuff. I'll mount them almost centered so they'll be perfect for all this stuff.

yeah centered skis are perfect for bumps, groomers, and especially bowls. Centered skis are also amazing in the backcountry.......righhhtttttttt

You live in canada where there are big mtns and lots of snow, why dont you sack up and buy a real ski? And stop messing around with these centered mounted park skis.

dspin7x you're a fuckin idiot. My ARVs are anything but center mounted, which is why I'm looking for a nearly center mounted ski.

^ Have you ever ridden the MIPs? You don't seem like you know what you are talking about. Don't recommend the kid something that you most likely haven't skied just because the person above you said so. Honestly, youve been post-whoring the forums with mainly useless responses that don't help anyone. Recommend a ski you have ridden, not one that you have heard a lot of hype about.

SteveX2, the Mike Nick's are a good decision for what you have in mind, but I can only comment on the 03-04's, I haven't gotten to test drive the 05's yet, but hit up a message to Anthony at H30Films, he has them. Actually, he started a thread about it, so look that up for some reply about the skis. Mounting them at core center wouldn't be your best bet, but mounting them closer to center than the normal mounting position would make sense seeing as you have the ARV's already. Nice set-up, ride on.

yup your right i ahvetn ridden them i jsut though it would be cool if he rode for a new company and supported them...my bad for giving an opinion

i imagine the 05 mike nicks mounting point is actaully pretty close to center.... i would mount it at the reccomened spot line skis are usually quite forward.

the skogens are supposed to be stiffer, maybe for a better all mountin ride? while your on the groomers and such? depends if you like a softer ski or not,

Skogens look like a pretty nice all in one ski. I haven;t tried it, but it 'looks' alright.

One day, one day people will realize that 'Almost Centered' doesn't mean centered at the dead center of the ski. Almost Centered is likely where LINE has their suggested mounting point.

And, SwitchPollard and whoever else wrote GOOD posts, thankyou, you are the people who make NS a good place.

Also, SwitchPollard, your post and Anthony's post were the reason I looked into the MNP again. I looked at the shop catalogue a couple months back and was interested in them but wasn't sure if I wanted an 86mm waist for park... but it'll definitely be nice for backcountry booters which is the main reason I want them.

what about the skogens? same shape as the mike nicks but stiffer? might be better for the trail-served terrain. maybe you want a softer ski though, all personal preference. and 86 isn't too big for the park in my opinion. shit, 92 isn't too big for park as i found out this year.

dude, center mount your skis, hell forward mount them for billygoating down shit. Kids who knock on center mounted skis just don't have the leg strength or balls to swing around longer tails. Just to piss people off I'm gona mount my next skis +5.

'It was probably the most improved park in north america last year. That's mostly due to us getting up at fucking 8 am everyday and raking like monkeys, untill we were to baked to talk. Every now and then some texan would eat shit and it would be funny and we would call ski patrol on our radios. we would steal food from the base and cook it on our grill, then heckle people on the lift with our mega phone while we played frisbee across the run. and took naps behind the shack in the most exclusive hut on the mountain. o christ, best winter ever.'

03-04 170 AR5's (beater skis)

04-05 185 ARV's (powpow skis)

2 pairs of Look P12's (or rossis, they're all the same)

^with those 2 pairs, i'll have a nice quiver -

179 PE's for all around stuff

171 Mike Nicks strictly for park

170 AR5's for urban

and

185 ARV's for powdah.

but if i can get the RA5's in good shape, then the mike nicks will become urban skis, and the armadas will be for park. this summer will fucking drain my wallet.

the mike nicks would probably be good, but might be a little wide if you are spending the majority of your time on lift accessed terrain. you should look into the mad trix, they are great on groomed runs and the park, pretty much any lift accesed terrain, plus they are a good, solid ski, they won't break on you. my mad trix are the 02, and the edges arent even cracked. but, DEMO THEM BEFORE YOU BUY...not matter what ski you are looking to buy, even if you think it is perfect, demo!.

ill be super rich and own mt.hood and let everybody from ns ski for free... except freezed

-hoodratz47

'too wide for lift accesed' whatever dude, like 5 people on here go backcountry more than once a year.

^^ Yay for me being one of them, I went about 30 times last season, 15 of them being skinning or hiking, the other 15 just being taking runs in lift accessed shit that you have to hike out of.

I know the Skogen's are basically the same, but I do like a bit of a softer ski, more fun for goofin around in the park.

i rocked my moships in the park all year until i got my chronics and pollards, and I still like the moship alot for park skiing. there isn't a waist that is 'too wide' for inbound skiing. it's all up to what you want to throw around.

Just Huck It.

oh ya strode! im keeping them. the only skis that ive sold were the msp's that i got off ebay for supr cheap. i think i got them for $375 so i had no problem letting those go.
