i put my money on ninthward as well, they are distributing worldwide and are doing really well. and not everything u here is true. i have 7 pairs of ninthwards and havent broken 1 yet

Ninthward... i've only ever seen one pair but they were a really well put together ski... you could tell... as a matter of fact $MiniChugga$ was wearing them. Plus they also make skateboard decks so if they fuck up in the ski market they can fall back on that. And clothing.

If candide starts up a company like the rumors ive heard, than that will be big. I mean, he pulls random abilities out of his ass so why wouldn't he run a good company? He will be big since he's such a mastermind.

Or armada if they can put together a more durable ski.

these new ski companies are just like the snow board start ups in the early nineties...how many of those small companies are still around??? None?

they just cannot be economically viable unless a larger corporation backs them...

ninthward looks as if it is pulling along however it wont surpass any of the big guns now like salo,rossi,line and k2 but it will put its name in there. Liberty is also making some progrress

liberty maybe I agree though It kinda missed the main surge. two years ago was when people first discovered freestyle and that was when there was a spot for small companies to make a name a compete with larger companies that hadnt opened their eyes to see how fast and hard freeskiing was coming. well now rossi, k2, salomon, atomic,dynastar,volkl and other original companies realize how much of a market there is in freeskiing, then line came out and made themselves a name quickly and armada came out and is now the best and 4frnt jumped on the end and just barely squeezed into that time frame. now that these companies are makeing many diff kinds of twins to fill every possible need we have there really isnt a need for more companies. liberty may just be large enough so that they can become a larger company but any others I dont seeing really makeing huge profits like armada and 4frnt and line will be able to make. thats my 2 cents.

line will be the big company along with all of the other ski manufacturers like salomon, rossi, dynastar etc. i dont see liberty going anywhere seeing that the skis dont stay in one piece and armada probably isnt making the kind of profits that you assume. line will be a big company but because of the big companys that were already in place, there most likely will not be a company like burton for skiing. it would be awesome but i dont think it will happen

i dunno man. line's skis continue to progress and dictate the direction the industry is going. line came out with a super fat ski, and then volkl and k2 followed suit. line is releasing the invader this year, and i bet within the next couple years you will see the industry follow suit with symmetrical skis. their ski construction is much improved and they are making bombproof skis now in a variety of widths and flexes, so if they can figure out their binding issues without pouring so much money into it that they sink the company, i can see line gaining a lot of consumer confidence and becoming the real benchmark for innovation and durability over a wide range of ski products within this industry.

^the prophet is admittedly a niche ski, but i think the price issue comes into play for any company that makes that kind of ski. the sumo certainly won't be cheap, and neither are made'n ak's. but the innovation extends into other areas, like the super inexpensive invader for instance. and the binding retails for a little bit more than a look binding in most shops, but being able to mount it on multiple skis brings the effective cost down for the consumer. couple this with line's already pretty sizeable customer base, and i think they have the makings for continued success.

Dude, K2 brought the term "Freeskiing" to the masses. Poacher? Check. Been around since the begining? Check. Now check your facts about the others listed and rethink your post:)

It is great that all of these start up companies are going for it. Honestly not all will survive as that is simply the nature of the game and it is much much harder than most any of you can realize, but it forces other companies to wake the fuck up, play the game and get it right (or at least try) with solid product offerings and cool marketing campaigns that our sport really deserves.

 
Line already once made a symmetrical ski, the original white ninja 1260's. so its not a compleatly new idea.

Ninthward as a company in whole...dope skis, and they are also making outerwear that is super sick as well, with incredible international distribution lined up for next year. Line already became a big company, so I don't think they count. For outerwear, Siver Cartel is blowing up faster than any other company in the world, hands down, and for good reason, next years Siver gear is soooooo dope i poop myself everytime I think about it.

ninthward is making some skis and maybe fucking some shit up on the side, and i love it.
