has to be... Charley Ager

After a strong performance at the U.S. Open, making it to the semis, Charley Ager put himself on the map beating the stacked field with a tech run that included switch 270 on, switch-up, 270 out on the top rail and switch 7s both ways in the middle of the course before finishing up with a tasty looking corked 5 double nose grab. He was also the only rider to lipslide 360 the wallride at the bottom. Atomic team manager Rex Thomas, who emceed the event, announced to the crowd he would be sending Ager to the Candide Invitational as a result of his performance. You should hold Rex to that promise, Charley. www.freeskier.com

way to go dude

well done Chuck thats awsome that he finally breaking through it was just a matter of time

wait, charile skis park? shit, you should see him stomp the shit out of 180s off 30+ cliffs. he aint no park rat.

Yeah, Peirot also has it pretty together. I have shot quite a bit with him.

But.. for those of you who don't know...

Keep your eyes open for Kevin Labatt as well.

Mckeem knows what I am talking 'bout

haha theres tonnes of randos here. but yeah ive seen that charlie kid rock it out hes sick.

pierot is also fucking heroic haha. his switch cork 5 clear-the-landing-by-30-feet and stomp the hell out of it style is so slick.

have we been spending too much time in the park?

have we forgotten about "Mr Breakthrough Performance of the Year" Dana "hot air" Flahr? Ian McIntosh (top 5 world tour standings 3 years running) Matty Richard? James Heim?

This thread should be renamed "Next best Park skier out of Whistler"

^those guys already made it. And sadly, park skiers get way more recognition than big mtn skiers, or at least, at first they do. And charley kills the bC too.

^^^ um.. those in the know refer to him as "Snappy" now... or Mr. Snappy to you..

J.S. Johnson will likely be next year.

you clearly haven't seem him ski outside of the park, where he absolutely kills it to.. i think this thread was appropriately named.

you should rename your post "i hate charlie"

ya you truly must have never been skiing with Ager on a pow day. he ski's spanky's switch faster then most people do regular and he is not hesitant to drop anything in sight bringing his park skills to the high alpine.

i am clearly aware of charlies backcountry skiing ablility, i have been out with him several times and hes sick. I dont see him lining up 40 and 50 footers comperable to matty and ian.

i am just busting your balls on the fact that there are a million other skiers here in town that could be the next best out of whistler - that dont ski park.

if you want to be the best you cant just dick around in the aprk all day and you cant just drop cliffs and ski crazy lines, you gotta balnce all aspects o the sport, urban too, oh yeah an derek drysdale is getting his shit on lock down, frank too and a whole bunch more of those Quebec boys

The best skiers in whistler are 2 or 3 chicks, that make me wish i could throw 270's, and cab 5's,

these chicks throw down and make most of the guys just watch........

chicks that rock turn me on hahaha.

seriously though, i hate it when people think that being good at park means your a good skier.

you need to be good at everything, big mtn, park, race, everything.

thats why olenick sucks arse.. he cant ski big mtn for shit.

i bet theres lots of people on this site that could own his segment in tangerine dream.

yeh spose your right, but it certainly helps nobis charge.

and check seth out, he looks like a racer when he charges an open bowl of pow.

but then again, you also get awesome skiers like micah who charge but dont necessarily seem to have much racer technique

yeeea charlie. sickness, hes made it...its dope to finally see his name amongst the best, where he belongs. "Jon, Sammy Carslon, Charley Ager, Michelle Parker, Tim Russel, Jossi Wells, Grete Elliason, Jacob Wester and others have just finished a sunset guinea pig session. It looks good and by Friday, when the first real competition begins, these guys will have it dialed."

this from the Jon O invitational...yeeeah

matty richard. first at kirkwood, second overall on tour. jeah jeah

what about laura ogden, from whis tooooo. female and she had the highest score out of anyone, man or woman. not that i think there would be any reason whatsoever that would give a woman any less of a chance at that accomplishment

Matty Richard and Dom are killing it. Those guys are like the new Big Mountain generation in Whistler taking over from Eric pehota and Trevor Peterson. They ski the same as those guys look the same and are placing in comps even better.

man if you never raced than you miss alot of technique and skill that would probly help greatly in the big mountain. i.e seth morrison, who is in my opinion the god of big mountain and he learned his shit from racing
