Newschoolers, Lets see your Whips!

I know a kid with a macked out diesel. Thought it was a joke, ripped on him so much. I saw him beat 5 civics an ricers in a row and one car was really nice for a straight 6. They are so underrated to people.

just wanna let you know that i realized you didnt have stock injectors/ housing...

you confused me when you quoted me right here

`89 W250 cummins 12v. 727 trannie with 3.07 gears. injection pump is cranked, timing bumped 1/8", Stg2 fuel pin, 12cm exhaust housing on the turbo to 4" downpipe stuck out the side, 3200 governor spring, amsoil performance intake, boost+egt guages.

I'll get a picture of her rollin some coal when I get home.

soon to come are 6X18 injectors, s300 turbo, low pressure piston lift pump, and five inch exhaust from down pipe to dual 7" miter cut stacks.

trucks similar dyno at 323/800. just over 400rwhp and 1000 ft/lbs is my goal.

and for all you haters I burn 70% vegetable oil and get 17 city 24 hwy mpg.

why don't you take all that power and put it in a smaller car so the power to weight ratio goes up a lot.

a lot of people need their trucks for work/pulling. cant really pull a skid steer with a car... its not stupid its just a different world. i dont bash subarus or any other sort of car i love them all.

here ya go though, i find this pretty neat

I was rolling around the other day and this guy with a 350 and the biggest lift ive ever seen pulls in front of us. He purposely reved his engine to blow smoke in front of us which literally blinded us for 5 seconds. douchebag

when im in my friends 420whp sti they do the same thing, its not that cool. he uses half the gas they do, and goes twice as fast. the only thing you have on us is you can pull a trailer at 120mph, good for you.

actually I can pull a trailer at 120mph with egt's at a safe level. That's why people start to mod their trucks.. stock I couldn't get up a hill pulling 15k lbs without hitting 1500 degrees. then they realize really how much power a diesel can put out and don't stop till they beat sti's down the strip.

and honestly.. it's so much fun to smoke someone out off the line and come off three lengths ahead. it makes it that much better. I don't think anyone could deny that.

but 3000 pound cars must be fun. :)

I don't understand the hate on the diesel trucks here. If anything, diesel is THE fuel for trucks. More torque, while being more fuel efficient.(Not a strong point of that truck in the video I'm guessing though.)

This whole argument is retarded. Both things serve entirely different purposes. Different strokes for different folks.

Your not gonna do any of this shit in an sti:

Just like your not gonna do this in a truck.

And you can do this in both

ANd obviously you can build anything to do anything. I know your arguing about stock form but the point is people do different shit with their vehicles, so let it be

You ever been to a diesel drag? Damn those trucks smoke fucking everything. That vid you posted earlier makes me want to put a diesel in my S10 instead of a built 327 or 350.
Diesels are fucking badass.

Getting an Evo in a year or 2. parents will pay down payment and co-sign a loan if i wait until my soph or junior year of college to get a car. Aiming for an '06 Evo 9

your so full of it not even funny......Diesel will pump out more power, and still have better fuel economy then your STi will just because of how they are designed. You add propane, modern chip tuners ( like EFI live for the Duramax), and water injection ....then not only are you running more power then the STI could ever think about stock.....but you save more gas then it could ever thing about stock.
Now don't show vids of Ken Block on the X-Games for rally because you just look up anything with Baja in the title, or Dakar Rally in the title and it kicks your ass ( ohh.....look how well the VW diesels do there, or the Banks/KORE diesel). They will take a jump the same size as your little STI with NO LANDING ( and we woun't bust axle shafts, or blow our trannies out).
Not to mention the auto world is going diesel. Audi Le-Manns champion TDI. Audi R8 TDI, Merc Bluetech diesels.....i could keep going.
Diesels trucks canbe modded to do ANYTHING.....your STi can only do many 3 things well at MAX.

please try to find me any example of a diesel that can do half of what a rally car can, its great that you can do a jump the same size with no landing, im yet to see that done though.

you say once you add a chip and propane it will beat a stock sti, thats the same thing as me saying i could add a downpipe and intake and beat a stock duramax, in my mind there is no comparison.

the best feeling in the world is passing a 4wd truck on the side of the road in a awd car 4 inches off the ground after 3 feet of snow.

type Laughlin leap into you tube, or KORE dodge ram Baja......all of it examples of exactly what your talking about
actually what i ment to say is.....i add JUST EFI live to a duramax, or Bully Dog to a Cummins dodge.....stock everything else....you unlock over 300 extra HP....save up to 10-15 more MPG, and bucketloads of torque . To do that to your STI....well you would need over 10 000$....and alot of time.
P.S. its hard to pass a 4x4 truck in 3 feet of snow when the front of your lowered car acts like a shovel...
hell i will use my lifted cummins to pass you IN THE DITCH with 4 feet of snow falls down......and when you oversteer into that ditch i will use my nifty warn winch to pull you out.

At least you will pull me out...thanks.

This is a silly argument you all realise right? Respect to either side that mods their vehicle to perform better and actually loves their car. I have driven a tuned diesel (forget who, fast fucker) and my dd is an STI and they are both awesome for what they do, and no they dont do the exact same jobs so get over it. A truck will never turn like a scoob, and a subaru will never have the versatility or torque of a built diesel. bah back to cars please.

but its NS in the summer......we have to argue about something to let out all the crazy anger from not skiing
jk....but honestly i do love a good debate

Pics of my 93 rusty toyota pick-up will be up soon.
MOAR RUSTY SKI BUM CARS

Having spent tons of time installing mods to all sorts of cars in a shop, I have to make one note about the Diesel statements made above me by someone. While you are keeping your EGT's low while pulling, you are not getting that 10-15% better gas milage because you are dumping as much fuel into your engine as the injectors and fuel pump will allow.

Any car that is spewing black smoke out the back, whether its a 3 cyl gas or a huge turbo diesel, is not getting optimum gas milage while spewing black smoke. It is in fact over boosting and running rich to lower EGT's (in a gas engine). Or in the case of a diesel, it is leaning the mixture to stop afterburning which will raise your egt's. Bottom line is that you cant get "more power" while "increasing gas milage". i can switch tuning maps all day long on my WRX if I want, but you can't get both at the same time. Aftermarket engine tuners are kind of a snake oil in this way.

Will your power output be higher? Yup. But is it healthy for the engine over time to run in a way it wasn't designed? Not so much. I am all for modding a vehicle, but understand that modification for using a vehicle for it;s unintended purpose will shorten the life of the vehicle. A stock Cummins in a Dodge should not be used to tow a semi trailer often, even if it can. Get the right tool from the job and it will last.

(Or mod the f out of it to go really really fast)
