after asking a few people around town more about this car, I got a picture of it sitting on a 10 foot tall snow bank from a few years ago. Guess it's jumped curbs and shit too, I honestly think it's worth passing up lol

Yeah I'd lowball hard if you go for it

Not exactly the best on gas at ~12mpg but it's reliable and gets me everywhere and anywhere. I'm currently saving for an older (02-06) wrx or an 05 Legacy GT. I'm leaning toward the lgt as I found one for a fair price in my area.

Also a question for you as a fellow G owner, and for any mechanical minded people, my car is making a pulsating base noise from the right side (I wanna say front but not sure). It only happens on the highway 65 or above and last for a minute or so then goes away. Not too much vibration or pull but definitely a rotational noise. It literally sounds like a subwoofer pulsating and gets louder with speed. I'm thinking alignment or feathering tires it's just weird that it goes away after a minute or two.

Lol I mean gtsts aren't that expensive anyways, especially a sedan. People only buy them to stance and or drift it seems, rb20s (I think they have) are pretty good though. Brothers friend has an s13 hatch with an rb20 and right hand drive converted that rips...when it runs.

there's been a lot of demand coming out of the states because of the whole import rule thing and gtst sedans go for like 2x what they were 3 years ago because of that.

that and an rb40 would be super fucking fun, a guy I used to ski with is in the middle or possibly the end stages of swapping a 2j into a s14. s-chassis love straight sixes lol

Don't want to bash on you but I wouldn't advertise silverline that place is known to sell salvaged cars as "clean" titles no one buy from this joint

Known where? 😂 you funny guy. What's your experience there. And hundreds of hundreds of positive reviews say otherwise. There is like one rebuilt title on the lot that was a local trade in. The place has come a long long way.

They used to sell salvaged way long ago. Good money in it. But cars are too hard to finance. Clean title is what's up. You honestly think the place would still be around after fifteen years with a 4 million dear indoor showroom if Leo was doing shady shit? Fuck no it wouldn't. Time and time again I have seen them go above and beyond and take care of customers.

You are more than welcome to talk crap from hearsay and no personal experience. But utilize your own eyes!

Oh well just warning people from what I've heard. I'd defend my workspace too, although I wouldnt work for a shady Russian car shop.. don't have time to wait for them to jump start the car before I look at it.

Lmao the cold weather was hell on the cars. Haters gonna hate. It's nice to work for an owner that is willing to just give a brand new battery or parts to anyone who buys though. It's so easy. I have seen him replace motors when some kid buys an sti and puts on a downpipe and doesn't tune then boom boom. Probably the best owner and most standup dude I have ever met. It just pisses me off when people talk shit based off hearsay and have no experience with us. There are a lot of idiots who buy cars and think that we rigged a fucking time bomb to grenade the clutch 4 months after it was purchased. Like wtf. How is that on us? haha

But the real question is...do you ever foresee a potential problem and neglect to tell the owner?

Fuck no. I always tell the owner. I go above and beyond. I make sure every modified car leaves there with a safe tune and proper supporting mods. Also make sure quality parts are on. Double and triple check for leaks. Test drive and full inspections on every car. Quality went up ten fold.

so ive got a question for you guys. So I was out drifting in a Cantire parking lot(propably not the smartest thing to do looking back) and anyways my friend and I see security walking out towards us taking a picture? couldn't really see what she was holding but my best guess is a phone. so I just left the lot as soon as I saw them and didn't come back like a bitch. Anyways I was wondering whats gonna happen? Nothing or are they gonna try and charge me with something they got my license plate? I'm just a little nervous cause I really don't wanna get in shit

I've been drifting in snowy lots at night pretty regularly in the 4 years I've had my license and had an employee hold what looked like a phone up to take a picture at least a few times, but I've never had any repercussions. If you were far enough away their fumbling fingers probably weren't able to get a clear enough picture to see your plates. If they called the cops they probably wont waste their time trying to find you. This is completely speculation, but whatever.

All you gotta do is find a relatively secluded lot, throw one or two skids, get out quickly, and find another lot, don't spend a ton of time in one spot making a ton of noise and throwing up a bunch of snow. It's a lot more fun to make really big clean drifts than to spin around in an uncontrolled donut like a fucking dingus anyway. You just gotta keep it stealth and make sure the only person you are putting in danger is yourself. Most people see it as reckless activity, but there have been so many times that having the knowledge to control my car in a slide has saved my ass on icy streets. I've been in friends cars who don't know what the hell to do in a slide and freak the fuck out and end up making it worse.

Thanks man. After thinking about everything I realize that I was far enough away to get the plates and even then the worst thing they could do is try and ban me.

Just go to a different lot, worst case they told the cops what car you had. A few years ago after a preseason rail jam I decided to rip some donuts in my volvo 240 wagon. After about 7 solid donuts around this little bundle of posts the grounds manager runs across from the road, comes 20 feet from me screaming at me to get the fuck out before he calls the cops. Being a sophomore I was terrified and said "sorry, sir" very nervously and booked it out. He was pissed because it was gonna take him "forever" to grade the area with the tractor that could do it in 2 minutes, was no more than a 20 foot circle in diameter.

Funny thing is they never maintain the parking lot so once its ski season its already pot hole central and fucks with cars all the time, I guess it didnt help that I had the thing straight piped to a $60 muffler in the back and he lives right across the parking lot I guess where some employees live in the condos. Now I only drift in it in the summer when its empty and I go hiking or when theres plenty of snow. Fucking miss that 240 though.

The love/hate relationship I have with my car is unlike anything I've ever known. Until recently I haven't hesitated to replace/fix/mod anything. Even when the engine popped I had the heads machined and replaced the short block, I've replaced sensors, bushings, exhaust parts, done jobs big and small. But the financial nightmare that this car has been is beginning to stress me out to the point where I contemplate the need for such a car.

At what point do you cut your losses? I did all this work and put in WAY more money than I'm comfortable admitting and now I'm stuck. I can't bring myself to sell, because 1. I'll never see the money I've dumped into it again and 2. I do actually enjoy the car, yet I financially can't continue fixing problem after problem.

Fuck I haven't been on NS in months.

However I now have this. '74 Scout II

Bonus, it was free.

Bump thread needs more liveliness. Almost done sourcing my "sti" swap for my forester. Just gotta get a vf43 turbo and then I can install the stuff. Only swapping the turbo and tmic no drivetrain or transmission but still. It will be as quick as an sti for under 1k.

Clean, I dig it. Try being 19 and driving this with lots of aftermarket parts including loud ass exhaust (borla) and 26 lbs of boost and then you'll know cop magnet.

Thanks man. But yeahhhhh, I used to drive a murdered out brz, had to get rid of it. 23 here, shouldn't have a license anymore. I've literally lost count of times of been pulled over and for what offenses, but I should be around 75 - 80 points on the license if I actually got tickets. Been waiting on the 100k warranty to be up to do work on my Audi. Got a 2015 S4 used with 10.5k miles for $20k after trade in. Just paid it off, nearly 38k miles now, 22k in a year :/. Once the warranty goes ill be pushing just over 500hp (333hp now) on 91-93 octane after pulleys, intake, ultracharger, reflash, and few small mods. Exhaust, suspension, and wheels will be last because they are cheaper and relatively east to diy. Feb wasn't a good month for me, got pulled over 5 times in 7 days, all 20+ speeding, only got one ticket tho.. for tinted windows. Blew through a trap at 125 in a 50 (not in my s4) somehow got off with a warning.

damn that sounds sick, reaaal jelous. was eyeing up b8/8.5 S4's for a while but figured id get a beater truck or suv to travel around Canada and the states hitting street next year. probably get a bike for the summer as well.

those upgrades sound like youll be having a blast though. ive done intake, intercooler, piping, headers, exhaust, suspension, and brakes, then some carbon exterior stuff and powder coated the wheels. obviously a tune as well. just about at 400 with my lil 2L 4 banger. only thing that has beat me so far was a lambo and a new corvette with a tune... Still nothing better than blowing the doors off a sti though ahaha. :) one day ill get myself a s4 or maybe rs though, only thing that sucks is the longer i wait the harder/older it'll be for a manual.

and for those of you thinking im some spoiled kid, been living by myself on my own dime since before i was 18.

What car did you have? Definitely is hard to find manual audis. I had to opt for auto :/ literally were no manual s4 or s5 in my area used and for sale. And people always think others are spoiled when they have nice things at a young age, but honestly who cares what anyone on here thinks. Work hard, spoil yourself, ski, and be happy.

My buddy has a '15 or '16 stock sti and we always race around. He edges me out 0-60, but from 70 on I leave him behind. Getting 500hp out of it would be ridiculous, car would pull in the mid 3 sec range for 0-60. I wasted all my saved up money for a rental home on the S4. Before I let myself do any work to it I'm moving to my own place in CO and waiting for the warranty to go. Probably will take 3-5 years to finish, but it will be well worth the wait. Car goes faster than necessary already, hits 155 easy enough, but of course, gotta have moar... Refuse to let myself buy a street bike, I'll turn into a red stain on the highway trying to hit 200. Definitely well aware of how reckless I am, but not exactly trying to rush to an early grave.

Never heard/thought of that one...

See, I'm not drilling holes in my car to put a plate on and not buying a side mount bracket, I don't like the look. The plate sits under my passenger floor mat. As for tinting... definitely not taking that off, keeps the sun from messing up the interior, helps glare, and the car looks too beautiful with the tint on. I have a doctors note/form saying that I'm allowed tint because of my chalk white skin and family history of skin cancer. (Both my mom and dad had it on their left temple/cheek) Also I despise attention from the cops, I rarely ever get tickets because I show them respect, am very honest, show remorse, strike up conversations, and am very white.

Side note, both the tinting and front plate laws are authoritarian and used for making money. Many states in the US don't require a front plate. Tint was made illegal on front driver and passenger windows in NJ because a cop was shot through one with 5% tint. They did it to make the officers safe... the real irony is that it forces cops to pull over and approach cars with tint, further endangering their well being.

Sorry for the long posts

Win some, lose some. Can't get mad at a cop when you're the one who was pressing the pedal... I only get upset when they are rude, don't show me the same level of respect, or try to throw the book at me for every little thing. I'd have to say 70% of the cops I encounter are decent guys, the others tend to have ego and power issues. I agree about tints, but I know the law isn't changing anytime soon so I'll deal with getting stopped and showing my medical forms.

Sorry for the long posts

I don't disagree with you at all. I loved my tint until the 3rd or 4th traffic stop, it honestly made driving in sunny conditions so much more comfortable. I'm familiar with the history of the law and it's absolutely absurd. In NH we can have up to 30% (maybe 25%?) on back windshield and back windows, and gotta be fishbowled up front.

My argument is: if the law stems from police safety- how can an officer know there isn't the same threat of someone with a gun sitting legally in my back seat hiding behind my rear tint?

And I don't blame you for not wanting to cut up your bumper. I'm just saying it seems like you're dealing with a lot of shit for simple little things that cops LOVE to cite people for. I'm an advocate for as little police attention as possible. And judging by how you've described your driving style it appears you could benefit from a little less attention is all.

I love both Evos and Stis, sacrilege, I know. Bet yours is fun as shit to drive.

Those are some sick bikes my man. I'm itching to get one, but I know too many people who have died on them. One day.. For now I'll stick with jetskis. Water is a bit more forgiving than asphalt and no cops to give me tickets.
