Newschoolers, Lets see your Whips!

ehh you seem like you know what your talking about, about land rovers being the best in general and all, and i agree (i have a 99' disco 2) and im not aware whether the 2010 discovery 4 is more capable than the 2010 rangre rover, but i would believe it i suppose. the think i dont agree is that the new range rovers are not as capable as the old ones. i think thats range rovers overall havent changes too much at all seince the early 2000's or so. theyve have to same technology basically. but yes they have gotten more luxurious for suree, and it kills me to see people drive shiny rang rovers around that i know work behind a dest all day, as opposed to drive their rang in some mud. did you post a pic of yours though

02 Tacoma 3inch lift Revtech 33x12.5x15 Maxxis Bighorns. I love it, hasn't let me down.

i think what hes talking about is how the new ones are coming with low profile tires and are a bit lower than the old ones, neither of which are good qualities for offroading

my bad, i completely looked over the fact that you said LR4. i dont know anything about the LR4 so i cant argue with you haha.

but the big body supercharged we had would go anywhere we pointed it, belly up mode is key for these cars, once your stuck it will lift the truck around 3 or so more inches... we would get LR3 loaner cars when it was service time, and it was nothing off road compared to the big bodys. much more nimble though.

i am about to cop a c300 4matic on monday or tuesday. the s4 is just gettin old and has to many miles on it, I want a warranty back!

actually i just picked one up not that one but a benz c300 4matic and it fucking rullleessss in the snow. the awd system is pimmppp!

wait, thats a terrible picture of my ride height, ill take a real one once they clear all the snow off the roads and i can slam it again

Sorry to disappoint bro. I've only had it for a few months, and I don't really see the need of an upgraded brush guard because frankly, I don't plan on either hitting someone, or going through a ton of "Brush" just yet.

Well, its not that particular one...I just think all brush guards are weak ever since I threw an ARB bar on my tacoma.....

Now they all seem quite minimal in comparison, so it's not your particular one or vehicle.

^they all seem like a waste of money. why bother protecting the front end that gets blasted with road debris from branches that are just gonna get pushed to the side and scratch all the way down the whole length of the vehicle. Unless you're a repo man or someone else constantly blowing through chain-link gates they don't seem worth it.

Yeah, I don't refute that I'm probably a little crazy for spending 950 on that (plus another 1300 for new suspension parts and 300 for lights). It's just something that I've wanted to build since I was a little kid.

I finally had to do so when someone backed into the bumper of the truck while it was parked at a UVM hockey game last year. The plastic cracked and broke, so the stock bumper was pretty dead. I then bought that ARB bar.

Now, that truck is not a mall crawler. Its a little rough on the edges and I take it on trails a lot, so IMO the bar protects the lights and front end there, but also has light mounts and can hold a winch (which I will purchase soon). As for on road driving, in VT there's always the possibility of hitting deer/moose, and anyone else who hits the front end again will be sorry.

My biggest reason for wanting a brush guard was to protect from a deer hit. Even the shitty little ones are better than nothing. I still don't have mine on yet.
